Everyone knows that a dog is "man's best friend." In reality, they are leaps and bounds beyond that. Your dog is not only a part of your life but also a part of your family. They never cease to amaze you and never let you down. Your dog is always there to make your day better; no matter what challenges life may throw at you, your dog will be your hero. So who needs a boyfriend when you have an adorable, fluffy best friend to give you love and attention?
Here are nine reasons why having a dog is better than having a boyfriend:
1. They are always happy to see you.
There's nothing better than walking through the door after a long day and being greeted by your fur babies!
2. They love you unconditionally.
Your dog doesn't care that you failed a test or that you ate one too many cookies last night. Your dog loves you more than they love themselves, so in his or her eyes, you can do no wrong.
3. They're adorable.
Who wouldn't enjoy coming home to that adorable face? I mean really, who needs cute boys when you have cute puppies?
4. They'll protect you.
Whether your dog is protecting you from a home intruder or something simple like the squirrels in the yard, they are always there for you and they won't let anyone hurt you. Ever.
5. They're loyal.
No matter what happens, your dog will always be loyal to you. You will never have to worry about your dog betraying you, so who needs to worry about cheating boyfriends?

Never forget that when it comes down to it, no one loves cuddling and napping on lazy, rainy days more than your dog. They don't even care if you just want to watch Netflix all day and snuggle.

I can't even tell you how many times my dogs have made me laugh harder than any human ever could. They're naturally goofy and curious by nature making them some of the funniest creatures ever.

Dogs are an extremely good judge of character. If your dog doesn't like someone, then chances are you probably shouldn't like them either. This comes in handy with the whole "dating" thing.
9. You are their whole world.
Even though you may only have your dog for a portion of your life, you are his or her whole life. You literally mean the world to them and they treat you like it, too.
I think it's pretty clear that when it comes to having a boyfriend or having a dog, dogs will always win. Let's not forget, there's a reason that emotional support dogs exist and not emotional support cats. On any note, boys drool and sometimes so do dogs, but when it comes down to it, no one makes a better best friend.
