Unfortunately, there comes a time when everyone has to start being real, functioning members of society, and that time is approaching faster than I had anticipated. My past four years in college have definitely been a roller coaster, but I am thankful that throughout the way I have made the greatest memories with the greatest friends. I know graduation is an exciting time, but I can't help to think about the things that I'll miss the most.
1. Living within five minutes of your best friends
Leaving the place you called “home” the past four years is probably the most dreadful thing about graduation, simply because you won’t be within walking distance from your friends. This means you no longer have an extended closet of borrowing their clothes, jewelry and shoes
2. Making your own schedule
You make your own schedule in college, so you can decide if you want to wake up for that 8 a.m. or sleep until the afternoon. You can make time in your day for Netflix or napping.
3. Going out any night of the week
It doesn't matter what day it is of the week, you can always grab a group of friends and go out. It's highly acceptable and encouraged to go out four times a week.
4. Day drinking
If there is any glimpse of nice weather coming your way, you know there is a day drink happening in the near future.
5. Sweatpants being an acceptable outfit choice
You honestly can roll out of bed the majority of the time and go to class. You don't have to worry about getting dressed up every day.
6. Winter and summer vacation
The time when you can go home and do one of two things: Work and make some fast cash, or you can literally lie in bed and be a potato — the choice is yours.
7. You're the boss of yourself
You don't have anyone over your head telling you what to do, so what you do with your time is completely up to you.
8. Your teachers
As much as you hated all the homework and projects they assigned you, they generally want the best for you. All the rants about their personal life and their struggles will come in handy one day.
9. The resources your campus offers
You can find all the help you need right on campus. Need to get in shape? There's a gym. Need help with your resume? The career and development center is always willing to help. You may not realize it now, but the campus has the majority of the things you need.
9. No student loans.
This needs no explanation.
