Everyone worries about events in their life on occasion. Some people, like myself, however have been programmed to worry a little more than average about everything that comes their way. If you are a constant worrier here are some things you will relate to:
People think you’re a pessimist.
”You’re a glass half-empty kind of person.” ”I’m really not! I’m just going to fail this test!”
You always think of the worst-case scenario.
What if I poop my pants during this interview, then not only will they not hire me, but I’ll be embarrassed for life.
Sometimes you miss out thanks to your worries.
Like all of those times you were too nervous for an exam, so you skipped hanging out with your friends to study.
You can’t stop worrying no matter what someone says.
“You know the last time you went on the roller coaster you loved it.” “I know, I know, but that’s not going to stop me from worrying about it!”
You’re always prepared for anything.
“Guys, I’ve got the pepper spray so we don’t get mugged and the snacks in case anyone has low blood sugar.”
It’s hard to sleep before big events.
Your mind races with all of the ways something could go wrong.
Google is your best friend.
*Googles* ways to survive a plane crash.
Your loved ones become irritated with your worrying.
They get so tired of your irrationality, they say things like, “Yes, okay, you probably will die during your presentation tomorrow!”
It’s never as bad as you expect.
All of your worrying is usually for naught when you make it through whatever you were concerned about in one piece.
To all you worriers out there, keep doing your thing, but don’t let fear get in the way of doing some potentially amazing things.
