Loud girls usually get a bad rap. We are told since day one that girls must be lady-like, graceful, poised and polite. This standard is unconsciously known in everyone’s mind, and at one point or another every girl has questioned whether their behavior aligns with this standard.

Here's to the loud girls who laugh so loudly in a room or restaurant that they snort or cry, who have been called obnoxious more times than they can count, who still break out singing or dancing in public no matter how much our mothers warned us not to when we were little. Loud girls are full of life. Here are nine reasons why they’re the best kind of girls.

1. They’ll never run out of things to talk about

Chatty Cathy is without a doubt an extrovert. Outgoing girls have a talent of being able to strike up a conversation with anyone. It can be a stranger, your dog or a boyfriend’s parents. It doesn’t make them uncomfortable to ask people lots of personal questions—because how else are you supposed to get to know a person? Outgoing girls have a genuine interest in people and their stories, which is why talking comes natural.

2. They’re fun to be around

This one’s a no-brainer. Outgoing girls are always smiling, laughing, joking around and yelling about something. If you think about fun things in general—like roller coasters and concerts—what do they all have in common? They’re loud, exciting, and full of energy. Roller coasters give us a thrill. Concerts have good vibes. Outgoing girls are basically walking roller coasters and concerts. There’s never a boring moment with them.

3. They’re spontaneous

Outgoing girls are down for anything. Yes, of course shy girls can be as well once they’re out of their comfort zone, but outgoing girls will agree without hesitation. They love to explore and leave their comfort zone. They live to try new things, whether it’s new food, visiting a new place or learning about something they’re interested in. These girls will still show up when Friday night plans are made last minute—and if plans are ever canceled, they’re great improvisers.

4. Outgoing girls are good at reading people

Outgoing girls have met a lot of different types of people. With all the talking they do at social events, the grocery store, the restaurant and mall, they are bound to come across a variety of characters. If you want someone who knows how to interact and observe others, the outgoing girl is the one for you. Outgoing girls have a sense of why people behave certain ways and know the different possible combinations of qualities that make up a personality through experience. They can pick up on social cues and body language and can tell who’s genuine and who’s not.

5. Outgoing girls are the perfect plus-ones

Because the outgoing girl is a master conversationalist, going to social events like weddings where she doesn’t know anyone is not frightening to her. In fact, she thrives in these foreign atmospheres. She loves that no one knows who she is yet, so when she opens her mouth and charms the crap out of people everyone is impressed. There won’t be any awkwardness and if you bring an outgoing girl as your plus-one she’ll probably be the life of the party.

6. They know how to work a room

Everyone is super engaged in what they have to say and their story-telling skills are immaculate. Everyone laughs. Outgoing girls have a great sense of humor, so when they talk to you, you’ll definitely slip a couple smiles. They make people feel special by asking open-ended questions. They have great eye contact and make sure everyone is included in a group discussion.

7. They’ll feel like your best friend right away

From the moment you meet them, they’re all smiles. They talk to you the same way they talk to their best friend. Same energy, same authentic laughter, same playfulness and ease. They share their same thoughts, feelings and opinions. It’s second nature for them to love people.

8. Outgoing girls can cheer you up

If you’re having a bad day, a simple conversation with an outgoing girl can make it better. Outgoing girls know the right things to say when people are down, and although sometimes it can sound like pop philosophy, they mean every word with their entire being. They care a lot about people and especially their loved ones. Seeing a friend upset makes them upset, so they make it their job to bring some sunshine into that bestie’s day.

9. They don’t care about what people think

Outgoing girls continue to be loud and obnoxious for a reason. It’s because they don’t give a f$#& about what people have to say or society’s standards for women. They accept that not everyone will find them charming or funny. Outgoing girls won’t change themselves in order to be with somebody. They understand that they’re not for everyone, that their extroverted and full-of-energy personality may scare some away. However, it doesn’t stop them from continuing their upbeat and bubbly demeanor. They’ll say what they mean and mean what they say. They understand that the important people in their life and the people meant to stay will love them just as they are.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
