It's that time of the year again! The days begin to get longer, the weather gets cooler, and the trees change their colors. While some are sad that summer is over, I am excited for the crisp air and the shorter days (the sooner it gets dark, the sooner I can sleep...right?).
Below are just a few of the reasons why I fall for Autumn with each passing year....
1. Sweater Weather
Sweaters are arguably (but if you disagree you're probably wrong so...) the most comfortable item of clothing you can wear. It's basically like wearing a warm hug or a fashionable blanket knit to fit your body... and who wouldn't want that?
2. Season Premieres
Ah yes, the wait is over! Now that summer has ended and we're crawling back into our blanket cocoons, we can get back to watching all of the things. Fall means that tons of shows are premiering and returning, and we can rejoice in indulging in our favorites once more.
3. The Great Skeleton War
Every year since 2013, I have long anticipated the day when "The Skeleton War" breaks out on Tumblr. People bring out their best skeleton memes, and the skeletons go to war to fight for our freedom and help us to anticipate the spookiest day of the year. Support our troops people. Support our troops.
4. Halloween
Not only is Halloween the one time that it's acceptable go to strangers' houses and take their candy, but it's the only day of the year where you can be someone (or something) else in public and get away with it. It completely justifies and rationalizes you eating sugar all day and treating yourself to a ridiculous outfit that you'll probably never wear again.
5. Crunchy Leaves
Whether you want to admit it or not....you know exactly what I'm talking about. You know when the leaves finally start to fall off the trees, and they're so stiff that if you step on them they, you know, crunch into pieces? Nothing gets me going like stepping on a good crunchy leaf in the middle of fall. Whether it's stepping on one leaf or falling into hundreds, crunchy leaves are the best.
6. Pumpkins
Fall means PUMPKIN SEASON has arrived! Pumpkin pies, donuts, cookies, spice, candles, picking, carving, smashing, and everything in between. Nothing says fall like a good pumpkin or pumpkin infused something.
Ah, the pleasures of caressing of that beautifully plump orange squash.
7. Thanksgiving
Food, food, food, and more food. More like food coma day, am I right?

8. SANTA IS COMING!
That's right ladies and gents, with the coming of Autumn means we're one step closer to the most wonderful time of the year. So hop in your sleigh and get ready to rock around the Christmas tree... or Hanukkah bush, or Kwanzaa candles, or whatever it is you do!
9. The Dancing Pumpkin Man
You didn't think I forgot about him...did you?
I'll just leave you with this...
