9 Quotes Every College Student Needs To Hear

I don't know about others but I personally love quotes. I find them to be inspirational and relatable. They are often just what I needed to hear at that very moment. Being a college student and going through the stresses of classes, homework and planning for the future are overwhelming enough. Unfortunately, we also have added stresses of relationships, family obligations and social pressures, among other things. No matter what situation you are currently in, I think at least one of these quotes could be helpful in getting you through it.

1. "You may think you'll never get over it, but you will, and you'll be fine."

I think this quote could help people going through a hard time where they might be especially stressed. Maybe you are taking a big test and you feel incredibly overwhelmed by it. Remember this quote and it might become just a little more bearable.

2. "You get what you work for, not what you wish for."

This quote is important because it's a reminder to work for goals instead of simply wishing for something to come true. It could possibly bring on motivation to keep working hard and striving for a goal.

3. "Kindness is a language that the deaf can hear and the blind can see." -Mark Twain

This quote is important because it shows how important being kind is. Even if someone does not seem to appreciate kind gestures at the time, they probably will reflect on the kindness you have shown them.

4. "Admire someone else's beauty without questioning your own."

I think this is a very important for college students because we are all unique. Everyone has their own values that they bring to situations. People are talented at different things and it important to not bring others down for this.

5. "Authenticity is the daily practice of letting go of who we think we're supposed to be and embracing who we are." -Brene Brown

This quote can be meaningful for college students because we are at a time in our lives when we are trying to figure out who we are. It is important to embrace who we are and not try to hide that.

6. "The most important thing is to enjoy your life, to be happy, it's all that matters." -Audrey Hepburn

I find this quote to be important for college students to read because we often become overwhelmed. I'm not saying to disregard your schoolwork, but there is more to life than studying. Do things that make you happy, too! Make time for those things because they are just as important as an education.

7. "No is a full sentence." -Mary-Kate Olsen

I find this quote to be extremely important because I often feel as though I need to justify my actions. We need to remember that we can say "no" and leave it at that. If you do not want to do something, you do not have to do it.

8. "Always be a work in progress."

It is a great reminder that we are never done growing and changing. I think it's important to continue trying to better ourselves or be a work in progress.

9. "The biggest human temptation is to settle for too little."

This last quote is very important because we need to remember that we are worthy of being treated with respect. I have personally been in situations where I was willing to accept less than what I believed I deserved. I'm sure other college-aged people have also felt this way. I think it is relatable and a perfect reminder for the ending of this article.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
