There's something incredibly special about having a big sister. Although we may bicker on occasion, it never lasts long and I know that she'll always be there for me. From late night laughter to family vacations, these are the moments with my sister that I have held dear since childhood. Here are nine things that I hope my big sister knows about our relationship.
1. I always have and always will look up to you.
Even though now we’re the same height (and I might be a smidge taller.) I still look up to you. I look at your example for everything. I see your successes and copy them, and I see your failures and I learn from them. WWMBSD? What Would My Big Sis Do?
2. You’re perfect.
I love it when people tell me I’m like you! From the way I act to my appearance, when I get likened unto you, it’s the greatest feeling ever! I will always see you as this flawless human being. There’s nothing you could ever do to disappoint me, besides vote for Trump.
3. You’re my Best Friend!
I’m closer to you than anybody in the world because I’ve known you my whole life! I know that I can tell you anything because that’s what best friends are for! Even though when we were younger we had rough patches, they only made us stronger.
4. I can keep a secret.
I’m not a blabber mouth anymore. I can hide things from mom and dad. I might have been the one that ratted you out to mom about owning a thong, but that was over 10 years ago! I’ve learned my lesson!
5. Your opinion means everything.
Whether it’s the boy I’m dating or what clothes I’m wearing, I want to know your opinion because I will follow it and I’ll remember it forever! I remember every compliment (and insult) you’ve ever said to me, and still to this day think about them.
6. There’s a reason I steal your clothes.
And I am aware of how annoying you find it! I steal your clothes because I see how amazingly beautiful you look in them and I want to be a spitting image of you.
7. I’m sorry for being clingy.
When you’re home, I stick to you like glue, I have to make every moment we spend together last because the next time we see each other is too far away! Every time you left to go back to college killed me! I’d spend hours crying and missing you!
8. I’ll always be there for you.
You don’t always have to be the big strong sister I know you are. You can admit you have no idea what you’re doing, and don’t know where you’re going. If anything, it’s reassuring to know you’re only human! You’re allowed to break down in front of me. And if anyone hurts you, point me in their direction because all though I am ‘the little sister’ I can and will destroy them.
9. I love you more than anything!
Because I know you love me more than anything! Our relationship is so unique to anything I’ve ever seen before, and what makes it perfect is it’s our own! There’s not a single person on this Earth that could possibly love you more than me because I love you with every fiber of my being.
