Summer is finally here, and not a moment sooner!! With it finally being time to go on those awesome summer vacations, the dreaded packing comes with it! What makes packing even more difficult is if your trip is out of the country. I for one, am going to Guatemala for two weeks, and packing has been the real struggle! For those of you that might not be sure what to pack when going abroad, DEFINITELY make sure you have these items with you!

1. Wall adapters.

I cannot stress this one enough, if you don't bring any kind of wall adapter, the outlets will not work! Some countries do use the same outlets we use in the States, so double check and see what you will need in the country you are visiting!

2. Refillable water bottle.

If you are anything like me, you cannot live without water. Depending on where you are traveling to, the drinking water might not be safe to drink, so bring a water bottle that you can refill with the clean water that is available to you that way you can stay hydrated when you are out and about!

3. Comfortable shoes.

In my opinion, you can't get more comfortable than a classic pair of Birkenstocks. These shoes have the perfect amount of foot support so that you can stay comfy while walking about! The last thing you want is for your feet to be hurting before your day has even started.

4. Portable charger.

I'm sure that wherever you are going, you are going to want to be taking as many pictures as possible while on your phone! Or you could be stuck somewhere because your phone died while you were using maps. No one wants their phone to die at the worst possible moment, so make sure to bring that extra charger along!

5. Use packing cubes.

Packing cubes will be your friend no matter what trip you are going on. These will help you save tons of space while also keeping your suitcase way more organized! This way, everything can be sorted out and it will be much easier to find what you are looking for!

6. Use travel-sized toiletries.

While this one may seem like a no-brainer when you are cramped for space, using mini shampoos and lotions will save you so much more room that we all so desperately need in our suitcases.

7. First-aid kit.

You never know when you might need some Tylenol or a band-aid and it would be handy to have those right on you! Either go buy a mini kit, or you could make one yourself! It 100% pays to be the mom of the group every once and a while because at least you know you are prepared for anything!

8. Motion sickness medicine.

I swear by this stuff whenever I travel anywhere because I get the worst motion sickness. Definitely go pick some up because you could find yourself on all kinds of ways to travel and no one wants to get sick!

9. A good attitude.

While you can't physically pack this with you for your trip, you MUST go into it with a great attidue! You certainly will not have as good of a time if you have a bad attitude, and no one wants to be around someonelike tht either! Having a positive attitude and a desire to have an amazing trip will for sure help you have the best experience possivle!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
