From her early days as Hermione Granger to her current work as a feminist ambassador for the UN, Emma Watson has been a wonderful role model for young people across the world, including myself. Not only is she beautiful and charismatic, but she is also intelligent, motivated, courageous, and empathetic. Here are some times that Emma Watson was an inspiration for all of us:

1. Hermione from "Happy Potter": Our favorite intelligent and brave female role model growing up.

What better place to start than the beginning? Emma’s first acting gig was one of her most inspirational, teaching a generation of girls to believe in their own power. Hermione Granger deserves (and I plan to give her) her own article, but overall, she proved that a girl could be pretty, smart, loyal and brave while also being human and having flaws. Hermione was often too practical and too perfectionistic for her own good, but we love and admire her nonetheless.

2. Sam from "The Perks of Being a Wallflower": The charismatic girl that everyone loves, but who is on her own journey too.

One of my favorite books of all time, "Perks" presents characters who are admirable but also flawed in relatable ways that make us more confident and comfortable with our own faults. Sam is one of my favorites because she is a compassionate person that creates a great future for herself despite her dark past and her mistakes along the way. Also, Emma did awesome with an American accent.

3. Nicki from "The Bling Ring": Proving she can be a bad girl, too.

Emma’s role in "The Bling Ring" showed that she is talented and flexible enough to play her complete opposite: the bad girl. While this isn’t the way we usually picture her, it was a way for her to develop her acting abilities and push herself outside her comfort zone, showing us that we can all be whatever we want to be.

4. Killing it in other Movies: "Noah," "My Week with Marilyn" and more.

Besides these films, Emma has starred in plenty of movies, demonstrating her incredible acting skills and delightful personality while also teaching essential lessons about life, love, and everything in between. Whether that’s as a strong female lead in "Noah" or the sweet secondary love interest in "My Week with Marilyn," Emma Watson has shown that she is one of the best actresses of our generation.

5. Graduating from Brown University: Proving that her impressive intelligence as Hermione wasn’t just for show.

Despite the millions of dollars she has made from just her early film career, Emma Watson has not stopped trying to improve herself. She can easily live an incredibly comfortable life from just her acting salary, but instead, she chose to attend Brown University and further her education. She managed to balance her acting career with her studies and graduated in 2014 with a degree in English literature (which is awesome to me since that is my major also!). Emma proved the power of her intellect and determination, and she showed young girls everywhere that they can be just as intelligent and talented as their hard work will make them.

6. UN Ambassador and Advocate of the HeForShe Campaign: A woman ready to save the world in her own way.

One of her most impressive and inspirational actions to date has been her work as a Women Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations. In 2014, she helped launch the feminist campaign HeForShe, which aims to promote gender equality across the world. Emma has traveled to numerous countries, including Uruguay, Bangladesh, and Zambia, to encourage education and political participation for women. In her famous speech to the UN, she encouraged men and women to work together to create genuine gender equality everywhere. Not only is she a talented and educated actress, but she is also a brilliant activist that girls everywhere look to for encouragement to achieve their own goals.

7. Standing Strong in the Face of Threats: Showing her faith in what she believes in.

Like all great and successful individuals working for change in the world, Emma has suffered from her fair share of criticism. Following her speech for the HeForShe campaign, Emma received numerous threats, including a website threatening to leak nude photos of her. Yet rather than succumb to fear and embarrassment, Emma stood strong by her feminist mission and knew that she did not have to fear these empty attempts to intimidate her. During an interview for International Women’s Day she responded to the threats by saying, "If anything, it made me so much more determined. I was just raging. It made me so angry that I was just like, 'This is why I have to be doing this!' So if anything, it actually, if they were trying to put me off it, they did the opposite." Now that is the kind of strength that we should admire.

8. Showing How Quotable She Is: From body positivity to living a happy and meaningful life.

Overall, Emma Watson is an amazing, inspiring young woman who has made a serious impact on my life and the lives of so many others. I hope that this shows why she matters so much and helps her to encourage that many more people in our world.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
