With graduation, the end of the term and summer vacation quickly approaching, many of us will be spending more and more time traveling, whether it be just a few hours or across thousands of miles. With that being said, here's a list of all the thoughts you encounter while in the airport.
1. The ever-interesting laws of TSA.
Because somehow a full-sized razor makes it through the metal detectors, but a six-ounce tube of face wash gets you escorted to the back room.
2. A supreme lack of personal space.
Whether it's waiting to board your flight or sitting in increasingly small airplane seats, personal space is seemingly no longer a social requirement once you step through the doors of the airport.
3. The terrifying thought that your luggage could actually be lost.
It's only been three minutes of waiting at the luggage carousel, but you still panic every time another black suitcase rolls by that doesn't have your name on it.
4. Missing your connecting flight.
Just admit it, you scheduled your connecting flight forty-five minutes from you first flight with entirely too much ambition.
5. ...And suddenly your layover becomes six hours.
And when you miss your connecting flight, of course the next flight is six hours from now, leaving you to fend for yourself in the dreaded terminal.
6. Waiting on the runway will just never make sense.
You sit in the waiting area. You board the plane. You sit in your assigned seat. You wait two hours, and your plane never moves once. Because getting a hundred people to sit down and be quiet is more of a task than anyone imagines.
7. How airplane WiFi actually works.
Let's be honest here, if I leave my phone on and do not put it on airplane mode, will the whole thing burst into flames?
And finally...
8. Is being a flight attendant worth this?
Despite every terrible encounter you have with the airport, you still debate every time whether those free travels as a flight attendant are worth it. Maybe you'll look into that when you finally get off this plane.
