The leaves are falling, and there is candy everywhere. This can only mean one thing, Halloween: something that once meant running around the streets of our neighborhoods, scraping together every bit if candy we could. Our costumes were either planned by our parents, or we hand picked one out of a store. Being a little older now, it either means staying in and handing out candy, or attending some type of social gathering, in which costumes are generally required. Although, finding a costume that is both appropriate and just plain good is harder than anticipated. It might start out like this:
1. You Google/Pinterest search something like "funny Halloween costumes" or "creative costumes".
Let's be honest, Google and Pinterest (or Yahoo answers) always have some good ideas, and getting as many ideas as possible is super important to achieve a good costume.
2. You narrow it down to two, but you have some serious decisions to make.
Do you want something original, or your usual Minnie Mouse costume? Do you want to be warm that night, or cold? Face paint, or nah? Do you want people to laugh at your costume, or be taken back?
3. After much debate, you choose one.
But of course, you second guess if it was the right choice.
4. You consult a friend to try and "twin" or raid his/her closet.
"Everyone else's closet is better than mine".
5. You hit up Goodwill.
And then maybe Walmart, twice.
6. You just have to figure out if you're going to wear that one final touch.
It's usually socks, tights, some type of headpiece, or jewelry.
7. You get ready, assemble your costume, and begin your night.
You look great, and everyone thinks your costume is hilarious, or great, or whatever you please.
8. The next day, that costume is in the trash, and you know what you're NOT doing next year.
