Halloween is fast approaching and what’s Halloween without a costume? If you’re like me, you procrastinate a lot and picking a Halloween costume is no exception. Here are some of the top last minute Halloween costume ideas that can be made using things you likely already have or can get fairly quickly at a relatively low cost.
- The solar system-- With plenty of solar-system themed clothing pieces out there, being the solar system would involve taking a trip to your local store and picking up some solar system themed gear. Planets can also be made using styrofoam balls. You can dye these balls different colors using food coloring and then glue them to your shirt to transform into the solar system.
- Mickey or Minnie Mouse-- For Mickey, find some red pants and a black shirt. Then, you can make the mouse ears yourself using black felt or can buy them at any costume store. For Minnie, grab a red skirt and a black shirt out of your closet, and either buy or make the ears.
- Dancing girl emoji-- Can you think of anything more fun than dressing up as your favorite emoji? Certain emojis, like the dancing girl, can be made using black shorts and a black shirt that you probably already have. The black ears can be made using black cardstock and felt attached to a headband.
- Onesie costumes-- If you live near a Walmart or Target, you make a quick run and find numerous onesies. The onesie opportunities are endless-- from Minions to Winnie the Pooh, and everything in between-- and you are guaranteed to be comfortable the whole time you are wearing one.
- Instagram photo-- If you find yourself scrambling for a costume on the day of trick or treating or that Halloween party, you can always use this quick and easy instragm cutout (http://www.thirtyhandmadedays.com/teen-adult-hallo...) and attach it to a posterboard.

Take a screenshot of your iPhone home screen the next time you’re on it (which is, like, all the time) and then send it to yourself so you can print it. Then attach this picture to the front of a cut cardboard box that you can put around your body. On the back , you can color the box using a black sharpie, leaving a little hole for the camera and the Apple logo.

- Ghost-- If you aren’t afraid of being cliché, grab a white sheet, cut some holes in at, and put it over your head for an instant costume.
- Tourists-- Grab that Hawaiian shirt you never use and pair it with an old camera, sunglasses, and a fanny pack to turn into an instant tourist.
- Candy “Rapper”-- This punny costume involves taping candy on clothes and sunglasses that rappers might wear (sunglasses, loose pants, and white shirts).
- Hippie-- Grab some round sunglasses (think John Lennon) and a tie dye shirt and you’re all set!
- For girls: Miranda Sings-- Who would not love to dress up as Miranda?! Put on some red lipstick that almost goes up to your nose, grab a pair of red pants and a classic blue striped shirt, and be prepared to make some weird facial expressions. Extra points if you try to sing or talk like her.
