Throughout life, we encounter many different types of relationships. Whether it be a significant other or a close friendship, these people become important parts of our lives. As cliche as it may sound, it is often said that in terms of relationships we either grow together or grow apart. As tough as it may be at first, growing apart isn't always the worst of the options. Here are eight signs that you have outgrown your friendship.

1. Lack of Communication

You and your BFF never went a day without speaking, and now you're shocked to see your phone light up with their name. When you start noticing the only one initiating contact is you, you also start to realize that you don't need someone in your life that shows little to no intent of keeping you in theirs.

2. Meeting new people

Despite how many friends you may have, no one could ever take your BFF's place. When you start feeling replaced rather than included, every time they make a new friend, you start thinking to yourself that maybe it is time to move on.

3. They stop taking your advice

With every crisis, the first person you go to is your BFF and vice versa. It gets tough to watch them make poor decisions and stop wanting your advice or ask for it and completely ignore it

4. Different goals

Life is all about moving forward and accomplishing your goals. It often becomes extremely difficult to maintain a friendship when you are determined to achieve your goals no matter what and their only goal is to sit on the couch.

5. Lack of support

When good news comes your way, the first person you think to tell is your BFF. Now you don't even bother because it seems that they just don't care. In my experience, this is often attributed to jealousy, genuine lack of interest, or sometimes a combination of the two.

6. Significant other

Getting into a new relationship is always exciting. You want to share all the juicy details with your BFF. When they get so wrapped up in theirs to the point where you can't even remember what they look like, enough is enough. Nobody has time for that juvenile nonsense.

7. Making excuses

You start to notice that when you ask them to hang out they will either say no or make plans and blow them off. With every elaborate excuse they use, you'll also notice that on the off chance they ask you to make plans, you no longer have any interest in seeing them because of how they've treated you.

8. You are OK with it

It is OK to move on. Despite how close you and your BFF were at one point, it just isn't the same anymore. Realizing you're okay with not having them in your life anymore is in my opinion the most significant sign of outgrowing your friendship.

Despite how close you were, sometimes people just outgrow each other. In my opinion, the first step towards being successful is cutting ties with the people that hold you down. It may be hard to let go at first, but letting go of the weight bringing you down only means that you are finally able to reach your full potential.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
