Move over Cinderella, Belle, and Aurora; Rapunzel is easily my new favorite Disney princess. I blame her amazing meet and greats and the amount of times that I have binge watched Tangled recently.
1. She feels stuck.
My two best friends are moving to Florida in August to work for Walt Disney World. As excited as I am for them, it makes me feel a little left behind. Do you know where I'll be in August? Still in school. I'll still be grinding for my grades. So, it's safe to say that I feel pretty stuck. This makes Rapunzel so relatable to me.
2. She wants more adventure.

This also makes her relatable. Now I haven't spent my entire life in a tower having only my mother for social interactions; but I do understand feeling like life just needs a little more excitement sometimes.
3. She has a dream and she follows it.
Maybe our dreams aren't to see floating lanterns, but we should all still take a page out of Rapunzel's book and step into the unknown. For me, the first step was transferring schools my junior year. I was just at my first school long enough to get comfortable, but I knew that it wasn't going to help me get any closer to achieving my wildest dreams.
4. While chasing her dream, she still cares what other people think.
This isn't Rapunzel's finest moment, but it's what really made her so interesting. Luckily, I have very supportive parents who love me no matter which crazy dream of mine that I'm chasing. However, I still worry about what other people think of my dreams. I worry about if they think I can do it or if they will be standing beside me when I reach my dream.
5. She trusts people easily.
She made the decision to trust Flynn Rider without knowing anything about him, really. The only thing she knew was that she wasn't going to fall for his smolder.
6. She's a little rebellious.
Her mother told her not to leave her tower, but she does it anyway. That's not all, though, she leaves with a wanted criminal. Later in the movie, she also finally stands up to her mother when she tried to get her to return to the tower.
7. She has an animal for her best friend.
Animal people are my favorite kind of people. My 10-pound Morkie (Maltese and Yorkie mix) is easily my best friend. Nothing compares to the love of an animal.
8. Finally, she reached her dream and found a new one.
To me, this is the most awesome thing about Rapunzel. Achieving my dreams is still a work in progress. I can only hope that I can reach my dreams and have courage to find new ones.
