8 Reasons Ice Cream Should Be Your Main Food Group

Ice cream is arguably the best food group ever. I'm definitely not kidding, this is a very serious topic. As serious as some topics are, the great thing about ice cream is that it is so fun and genuinely brings joy to life! When people say it's the little things, they are definitely talking about ice cream and the impact it can have on someone, I'm sure of it. If ice cream doesn't consume your life in a positive way, then you definitely aren't eating enough of it!

1. There are a zillion different kinds

How cool is it that you can get almost any flavor you could imagine in the form of ice cream. You can even have ice cream if you are lactose intolerant-- that still amazes me. Now if you say that you aren't an ice cream person because cake is more up your alley, then even better: ICE CREAM CAKE!

2. You can eat it literally anywhere

@lilycooper would probably argue that you should eat it in the shower, you can eat it in bed (my personal favorite), outside in the sun, or eat it in phoenix when you're dying of heat exhaustion. Personally, eating it in bed is my favorite, but outside an ice cream shop is just fine too, or enjoying it from your hammock in the fresh air!

3. Makes any sunny day better

PSA: Ice cream will not taste great if you let the birds get to it. Protect your ice cream people.

Not only does ice cream make for a great treat in the sun, but it will cool you down on a hot day and I'm pretty sure every girl has to take a picture with their ice cream cone when the sun comes out. Or if you live in WA you are still eating ice cream in the rain because that's basically every day.

4. It solves every problem

Honestly, ice cream solves every problem especially when you eat it when you're with your best friends. If you are ever having a bad day, grab a tub and chow down-- I promise it'll take away the bad feelings and make you feel all gooey and lovey on the inside!

5. Awesome first date idea

Okay it doesn't have to be just your first date, but ice cream is always a great idea for a date night! It is the best way to enjoy a night out and a great time to talk when you're in the best mood-- because of the ice cream of course!

6. Great dinner replacement

Or breakfast too! Who even needs dinner anymore when there's ice cream in the freezer. Okay, moms out there might not enjoy this but hey, I'm sure they've done it too! Then no one even needs to make dinner you just have to decide cup or cone and you are set!

7. It makes everyone happy

Who doesn't feel the happiest with a big bowl of ice cream that tastes like pure joy?! You can use ice cream as a pick me up when you're down or you can have an extra fantastic day and celebrate with your favorite scoops for a memorable day!

8. Simple solution to boredom

When in doubt ice cream is always the answer! Never fret, when a friend can't be there, ice cream can! Or if you and your friend are bored, ice cream is still there. No seriously, always an option.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
