Alright, I’ll be honest, it’s just a huge bonus for me when someone can sing. I love to sing. I have for as long as I can remember. Ideally, my boyfriend would also love to sing. I just so happened to meet my current boyfriend in a chorus class, so he naturally met that requirement. But this is why you, too, should date someone who sings.

1. They will sing with you.

Okay, I know that sounds silly, but it’s a huge perk! If you’re listening to the radio and a song comes on, it’s better to sing with more than one person. (Note: It’s also really funny when both of you don’t know the words!) But in addition to that, it has the ability to be really sweet. Singing “Thinking Out Loud” (by Ed Sheeran) has a whole new meaning, when you and your partner are singing together. It’s a huge bonus when one of you can harmonize with the other!

2. They will listen to you sing.

Again, sounds silly, but it’s true. If they like to sing, it means that they’ll listen to you when you’re singing. When you belt out that last note in “Defying Gravity” (from Wicked), they’ll be impressed by your awesome singing skills. Not to mention they’ll probably still listen even when your voice isn’t quite up to snuff.

3. Road trips are much more entertaining.

Everyone can talk while they’re on the road. Everyone can take a nap (okay, not the driver). But when they can sing along to your Disney music collection, things just got a lot more interesting.

4. They will understand when you burst out in song.

There are moments that just lend themselves to song. They not only get that, but they will probably sing along when you start. They know that sometimes you just have an impulse to sing and they not only like that about you, they encourage it.

5. Because they are always humming.

I don’t know why this is so endearing, but it is. I’ll be sitting and doing homework and my boyfriend (through Skype) is humming a song. It’s soothing to listen to him. The only bad part is sometimes he gets whatever song he’s humming stuck in my head.

6. Because they cheer you up with songs.

If you had a bad day at school or work, music has always been a soothing balm. Having someone sing it to you makes it that much better. Even complete breakdowns are no match to a song, your song, being sung in your ear.

7. Songs take on a whole new meaning.

You can’t just listen to a song anymore. You’re not only thinking about them, you’re thinking about singing it with them. You’re thinking about when they sang that song for you on a date. You’re thinking about the first time you heard them sing this for you. Songs themselves always have memories attached to them, but when you sing them there’s a deeper and stronger connection that lingers through the relationship and beyond.

8. You still get the perks of them liking music!

If they sing, they most likely like music. That means you have new music to talk about, even if you’re not interested in the same type of music. You get the same joy from listening to music. You enjoy going to see concerts together and can talk about the latest album drop for your favorite band. They completely understand if you want iTunes gift cards for your birthday and you know that’s something you could always fall back on to get them. So on top of all the singing perks, you have music perks too!

Those are just some of the reason you want to date someone who sings. It’s a brand new level from someone who enjoys music. Definitely date someone who likes music, but date someone who can sing too. It’s worth it, I promise.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
