It's that time of year again everyone! We get to spend the holidays surrounded by the people we love, as well as those distant relatives we are forced to have attempted small talk with. It's rough, trust me I know, but you can get through it just be prepared for some of the common questions they are going to ask you.
1. How was your semester?
Thinking back on your list of mistakes you made on the weekends or the tests you've done not so well on, there are a wide variety of ways you could respond to this question if you are going to be completely honest. Just try to keep your answer short, sweet, and generic.
2. How did finals go?
Whatever you do, just don't have a breakdown while trying to answer this commonly asked question. Since you have most likely already suppressed any memories of finals, just come up with something to say so you can quickly move on.
3. Do you have a boyfriend?
No, sorry grandma still single.
4. What is your major?
This question is pretty straight forward.
5. What do you want to do after you graduate?
Another sensitive subject if you have no idea what you want to do with your life. "I'm keeping my options open," is always a good way to answer. It says, "hey, yeah maybe I don't know what I'm doing with my life, but I'm trying to figure it out."
6. Why don't you have a boyfriend?
I don't know grandma.
7. How does it feel to be back home?
Having a break from classes, not having to eat dining hall food, being reunited with your best friends from home and your dog... can't get much better than that.
8. What are your plans for break?
