The world is a place of constant change and transformation. Life in the 21st century is very much different from centuries past; I think we can all agree with this. As we know, it is very easy to become overwhelmed with everyday life and the problems we face. Though there is no easy solution to a lot of what life bring us, I believe there are a few simple things that can be done to help bring about positive attitude and outlook on life.

1. Do good deeds, and don't post about them on social media.

Doing good deeds makes you feel good. And sure, sometimes it’s nice to get recognition for those good deeds. Social media is a great way to share your thoughts, photos, and interests. However, using social media for the sole purpose of boasting about yourself makes the deed you did a little less sincere. Be good, even when no one is watching.

2. Drink lots and lots of water.

Really, it’s free. Not only is it one of the best things for you, but with prices going up on anything and everything, ordering water when dining out is an easy way to shed a few dollars off your bill and help your food go down a bit smoother. Making healthy changes really is this simple.

3. Use your unlimited texting to send something nice to your mom, friend, co-worker, or anyone for that matter.

Most likely, almost everyone you know has a cell phone. Sending someone you know a text just simply saying you miss them, you hope they are doing well, or you believe in them is a very small thing that can give them the little bit of courage they need for the day. Literally, it’s as easy as a click of a button.

4. Make one activity you enjoy an outdoor activity.

Go for a jog, plant a flower, sit on a swing, swim, read a book on a blanket in the grass… the options are limitless. It doesn’t have to be a hike up a mountain every single day, but taking some time to appreciate being outdoors is a great stress reliever and beautiful change of scenery for your day.

5. Avoid using social media to be unfaithful to your significant other.

This one is very simple. If you’re unhappy in your relationship, communicate with your partner and do something about it. Just because we have such easy ways to share messages and pictures with others, does not always mean you have to take advantage of it. Always try to be honest and respectful.

6. Before you go to sleep at night, take at least 20 minutes to reflect.

Let this be your alone time for yourself and your relationship with God. Say your prayers, give your thanks and tell Him your worries and fears. You’ll sleep better at night.

7. Shut off your electronics in small amounts.

Designate a few certain activities of your day to be a “no electronic” activity. It can be dinner with your family, lunch with a friend, or your morning coffee, or anything really. We have different uses for our electronics all throughout the day, and that’s certainly OK. It can be a bit unrealistic to rule out your electronic devices cold turkey, but having a time where you put them down increases quality with yourself and others.

8. If you want to make your bed, make it. If you don’t, don’t.

The point is; if there is something you want to be done, make it happen. If you don’t particularly care to do something, then don’t do it. The world tells you a million different “right” and “wrong” ways things should be done, the “right” and “wrong” time do those things, or whether they should be done at all. As long as you aren’t hurting others, just do what makes you happy.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
