A new year means new trends! With spring on the horizon, there’s a lot of excitement about some style for the upcoming season. Get your closet ready because here are the top fashion trends for the new year!


1. Flare Jeans
Talk about a flashback to the '90s… These jeans are back in action! Not only are they so comfortable, but they are incredibly flattering. They lengthen the line of your legs, especially when paired with a heeled boot.





2. Athleisure
It’s officially a word in the Oxford Dictionary! It all started with Lulu Lemon and now Kate Spade, Tory Burch, and Anthropologie are joining the team. Trendy workout wear is the biggest trend of the year thus far.





3. Espadrilles
Out with the wedge and in with the flat. These sandals are a hybrid of the sandal and the ballet flat. They are cute and comfortable. What more could you want in a shoe?




4. Backpacks
We’ve gone from the bucket bag to the backpack. Stylish backpacks work for class, travel, and everyday necessities.



5. Off the Shoulder
This trend kicked off with the Free People cut-out shoulder sweater. Now, it can be seen in all styles such as dresses, blouses, and rompers!



6. Rompers
So, casual and comfortable is pretty much the theme of the year. As the warmer weather approaches, these pieces are easy to throw on and go about the day in!





7. Button Skirts
Suede for the fall; denim for the spring! There’s a lot of liberty when it comes to styling these pieces.



8. Pompom Key Chains

Honesty, I don't quite understand this fad. But apparently, adding a ball of fluff to your handbag is considered fashion forward these days!


9. Fringe

This trend surfaced last fall and has carried over in the new year. Fringe can be spotted on just about anything from dresses to handbags.


10. Lace Up Shoes

This style is another late fall trend that popped up and has trickled into the spring. Laces are not just for chucks anymore. Everything from ballet flats to high heels show off this fun trend!



11. Graphic T-Shirts

This witty and comfy shirts make a lazy Saturday a bit more fashionable!
