It's October 1st, which basically means it's Halloween! If you're anything like me and my friends, we're always on the search for cute but easy costumes. So here's a few ideas for simple, DIYable, and Insta-worthy costumes. The best part — a lot of these incorporate pieces that you probably already have in your closet!

1. Unicorn

A basic white dress with a unicorn horn headband (which I found at H&M and Forever 21) is all you need for a unicorn costume. Top it off with a sparkly eye look and some white tennis shoes. If you want to add a fun touch, try rainbow fishnet tights!

2. Sugar Skull

The makeup is what makes this costume. All you'll need is white face paint to draw the half skull on your face and the bones down your arm (or, you can get temporary tattoos for this part). For the rest, you can just use eyeliner and eyeshadow, and play with different rhinestones which you can stick on with clear eyelash adhesive. For the outfit, just stick to all one color.

3. Vampire

All this costume requires is an all-black outfit with thigh high boots. This is the perfect excuse to pull out that wine lipstick you've had no occasion to wear to. Throw on a black leather jacket if it's chilly or you don't want to show as much skin. Katherine Pierce from The Vampire Diaries is the perfect inspiration for makeup and hair!

4. Alien

Look for anything holo, metallic, and shiny. Put your hair in space buns, add glitter, and an alien antenna headband. Another option is galaxy leggings (you can find these on Amazon) with a white or black crop top.

5. Alcoholic Drink

There are several ways to do this costume. You can get an oversized t-shirt of your favorite alcohol and wear it as a t-shirt dress. Or, you can wear an outfit that's the color of the drink, print out the logo online, and iron it/clothespin it on. Throw on some knee high socks that match the colors and some tennis shoes, and you've got your costume.

6. KISS

Grab a KISS t-shirt (or any rock band) and cut it up any way you like. You can wear this with black bottoms of your choice. Fingerless fishnet gloves is a great addition, and you can't forget the face designs which you can draw on with black eyeliner (make sure set it with translucent powder so it stays put).

7. Boxer

All you'll need for this is a sports bra with Nike pros or gym shorts and sneakers. Grab a silk robe for overtop. I think boxer braids looks great with outfit, and you can use purple eyeshadow under your eye to mimic a bruised eye.

8. Victoria's Secret Angel

Going off of the last costume. Just tie the robe in the front and get a pair of small angel wings and you have yourself a Victoria's Secret Angel. This look wouldn't be complete without their signature big curls/waves.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Whether you met your new love interest online, through mutual friends, or another way entirely, you'll definitely want to know what you're getting into. I mean, really, what's the point in entering a relationship with someone if you don't know whether or not you're compatible on a very basic level?

Consider these 21 questions to ask in the talking stage when getting to know that new guy or girl you just started talking to:

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
