7 Ways to Spice Up Your Ramen

To our poor college kids, eat your heart out.

7 Ways to Spice Up Your Ramen

When times are tough and you have to pinch pennies, college kids willingly live on cheese and crackers, pop tarts, and (the fan favorite) ramen noodles. Whether it's your average Cup Noodles or your Top Ramen packets, not many people will protest gobbling down carbs, as long as their bellies are full.

That is, until it becomes an every day meal and you don't enjoy eating anymore. Well, I am here to tell you that there is a solution. Below are some secret recipes that I have collected from friends that solve your impoverished eating habits.

"Prison Break"

Giphy

It sounds like a weird mix at first, but it's apparently really delicious. First you take a Cup Noodle (chicken flavored) and cook it, then you remove all of the broth. Then you take cheese dip, summer sausage, pickles, and small bag of nacho cheese Doritos and warm it up a little. Then you have your new meal!

Lime Juice

Giphy

You take your Top Ramen and your Cup Noodles, pour out half of the broth and add lime juice to your leisure, however sour you'd want.

"Maryland Ramen"

Giphy

Cook your Shrimp flavored Ramen as normal, add some Old Bay seasoning, and maybe some pre-steamed imitation crab, depending on your feelings of crab. This is a good mix, and pays lovely homage to Maryland.

Eggs!

Giphy

A lot of asian countries put eggs in their ramen because it's just so good. They can be poached, egg-dropped, fried, hardboiled, etc. A lot of recipes call for eggs to be seasoned with soy sauce. Maybe consider making this your next dish.

Sriracha and Garlic Powder

Giphy

If you have an affinity for spicy food, you definitely should drop a few teaspoons of Sriracha in your ramen and a dash of garlic powder. Apparently, it's the bomb. I have yet to try it.

Lemon Garlic

Giphy

A little bit of lemon and garlic powder goes a long way. A tangy and savory twist to your chicken flavored ramen could be your next go-to money-saving meal.

Breakfast Burrito Ramen!

Giphy

All you'll do is take your ramen, cook it, drain the noodles, add some cheese, and roll it in a tortilla! This is my personal favorite. You can also add some extra sauce if you want, but it's all up to your taste.

I hope these recipes were helpful, and you won't get tired of Ramen any time soon! Eventually you'll be back to normal meals, I promise!

To My Loving Boyfriend,

  • Thank you for all that you do for me
  • Thank you for working through disagreements with me
  • Thank you for always supporting me
  • I appreciate you more than words can express
  • You have helped me grow and become a better person
  • I can't wait to see where life takes us next
  • I promise to cherish every moment with you
  • Thank you for being my best friend and confidante
  • I love you and everything you do

To start off, here's something I don't say nearly enough: thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You do so much for me that I can't even put into words how much I appreciate everything you do - and have done - for me over the course of our relationship so far. While every couple has their fair share of tiffs and disagreements, thank you for getting through all of them with me and making us a better couple at the other end. With any argument, we don't just throw in the towel and say we're done, but we work towards a solution that puts us in a greater place each day. Thank you for always working with me and never giving up on us.

Ah, yes, good old Hauppauge. We are that town in the dead center of Long Island that barely anyone knows how to pronounce unless they're from the town itself or live in a nearby area. Hauppauge is home to people of all kinds. We always have new families joining the community but honestly, the majority of the town is filled with people who never leave (high school alumni) and elders who have raised their kids here. Around the town, there are some just some landmarks and places that only the people of Hauppauge will ever understand the importance or even the annoyance of.

Tamatoa created a liar filled with shiny things simply for the purpose of tricking fish to enter and become his food. He too experiences a lesson in how easy it is to be tricked by shiny things when Moana distracts him by covering herself in glowing algae so Maui can grab his hook.
