7 Ways To Show Some Last-Minute Love To Your College Friends

We’re wrapping up the school year, and that means these last few weeks are going to whiz by. Throughout the year, you’ve learned a lot, made many memories — but most of all: you’ve made some great friends. These friends have become your late-night chats, your go-to adventures and your never-ending laughs. They’ve become like your second family. Yet with the year coming to an end, your time left with them is dwindling before you enter the warm days of summer break. So why not show them some love before you go separate ways for a few months and cherish the last moments of this school year together? Here’s a list of seven things you can do to show some last minute love to your college friends:

1. Bring them on a coffee date.

Coffee dates are always a prime way to catch up with one another. Whether you go off campus to a cute coffee shop down the street or stay on campus in the cafe, a coffee date will show your commitment to and love for your friend. Talk about summer and plan some possible times to see each other over break.

2. Have a dance party.

Dance parties never fail. Invite all your friends, blast some music and dance the night away before the stress of finals comes up and departures occur. You’ll be sure to have a good time and make some lasting memories.

3. Make them a scrapbook.

What’s more sentimental than filling a book with photos, quotes and memories from the past year? Get creative with this and, although you may not have time to make one for all your friends, make the time to create one for that one best friend who made a great impact on you throughout the year. They will surely love the gift and really feel loved with the turn of each page.

4. Throw a huge sleepover.

A huge sleepover with all your best friends is definitely a necessity before you go. It’s the one last time to make some late-night memories and fully enjoy each other's company. Being with all your friends at once will definitely bring a great sense of joy before you all say your goodbyes.

5. Go on a late-night food run.

Late nights are always the best time for adventures. And what’s better than an adventure with food? Grab a couple friends, a car, and drive to the closest diner or ice cream shop to meet your food cravings — and enjoy the company while you're at it!

6. Write them a letter.

For some people, letters are a great form of expressing emotions to those you love. Writing letters to all your close friends will show how much you care for them. Really express your love to them through the letter and make it as thoughtful as possible. It will definitely be something reopened an abundant amount of times throughout the summer to comfort the missing of fun times and friends.

7. Give them one last hug.

Before you go on your way home for the summer, make sure you say goodbye. A big goodbye hug will hopefully be enough to get you and your friends through a summer apart. And when you return, another great hug will be in store.

Don’t let these last few weeks go by without some fun and creating memories with your friends. Enjoy the little moments and really dwell in the presence of those around you. Laugh more, smile more, have a little more fun. You won’t regret it when summer rolls around. Your friends, who have been there for you and greatly impacted you this past year, deserve some extra lovin'.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
