All I can say is SLEEP, SLEEP, SLEEP! As a college student staying up crazy hours and the "occasional" nights you go out on the weekends, sleep can seem like a foreign concept. Sleep is so important to your physical and mental health and here is why...
1. Without sleep, emotional breakdowns occur more often.
I know for me especially when I do not get enough sleep I tend to feel like I am on the verge of a temper tantrum. Surprisingly for a 20-year-old girl, a temper tantrum is not acceptable. Please sleep for the sack of your social status and to be not be known as the mentally unstable person in your classes.
2. Falling asleep in class does not always go over very well.
We have all seen that person has fallen asleep in class, heck you may have even been that person. if you were, you understand the struggle of trying to explain that to a professor.
3. Sleeping through a class.
There was one time I thought it would be a good idea to take a nap in between classes OH BOY was I wrong. I missed my alarm and woke up two hours after my next class ended. Power naps are not always good unless you are a professional at it.
4.Hitting Snooze.
Hitting snooze may seem like a good idea, but is it really? Though it gives you those few extra minutes of bliss sometimes I find myself being even more tired if I hit the snooze button a couple times than if I get up right away.
5. Being an academic weapon.
In order to kill that paper or that debate you have in class, sleep is needed. There is no way that without the right amount of sleep doing any of these to an even passing ability is possible.
6. Better test grades.
It is not just something that your mom tells you when growing up, you really do need a good night sleep before a test. To be able to remember all that information you spent hours studying properly you need to get enough sleep.
7. Feeling bomb.
Whenever we get enough sleep we feel like we can take on the world. Make this an everyday thing by prioritizing sleep. Because who doesn't like waking up feeling like Queen B.
