7 Moments Every Senior In College Can Relate To In The Last Two Weeks Of Fall Semester

Ahhh, senior year! The year that we all have been waiting for well unless you are at the point where most of us are and have to make some important decisions about where we want to work when we graduate and nonetheless don't even get us started on what we even want to do!

Sure, winter break is nice but in the back of our minds, we are all shuffling through the checklist that we need to complete before Spring semester begins.

Making your last semester schedule

No 8 a.m. classes, please and thank you. Have some sympathy for those of us who had those classes until junior year. Also, no Friday classes so I will do everything in my power to choose the classes based on the days they are available because who doesn't want a long weekend every weekend?!?

Strategically planning to start job hunting after the new year

The constant question as to when you will start looking for a job haunts you in the back of your mind. Yes, let me just put my school life on hold for a minute while I begin to research every possible job that wants a recent college graduate working for them... how about let's wait a little because no one wants rejection this early in the year?

Why do my professors still assign work over breaks?

Do they not get it? I have limited days home and all I plan on doing is sleeping and eating. I don't have any intentions of watching an online lecture or taking notes while trying to watch a movie with my family.

Another group project?

We all know that these never go well. You end up being paired with people you have not spoken a word to the entire semester and now you have to meet outside of the classroom??? No thanks, I rather have an individual project that I can get done on my own time.

Trying to get all your work done during class

Having Word opened with your notes but also having Blackboard open to the quiz you have to take by midnight. Will I complete this while in class so I don't have to stay up late? The answer is yes.

Trying to make that LinkedIn top notch

Fun fact you can upload your resume to LinkedIn so you don't have to re-type out EVERYTHING you have on there. The tough thing to master is the headshot so all these professionals will know what you look like. Pro tip: do not use your senior photos from high school.

Gathering all old notes and worksheets

Honestly, there is no greater feeling than ripping pages out of notebooks and putting stuff together to pass down to friends who may be taking the classes you took in the next few semesters. I color code and write all my notes very legibly so I feel good passing down my study guides and worksheets to others.

Five months go by faster than you think and if you are anything like me you are feeling a mix of excited and scared. Enjoy your second semester as a senior to its full extent!

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
