7 Things That Excite Me More Than The Super Bowl

I'm not afraid to say that I don't care about the Super Bowl. There, I said it. Take a moment to gasp in disbelief before I explain.

Yes, I don't care about football. No, it's not because I'm a girl. From the way I see things, there are more girls who care about football than the ones who don't. It makes sense, doesn't it? A girl from an all-American family can easily love football. My family was never one that sat around and watched football together. My parents are from a different country and didn't value watching football to pass time. So I grew up not valuing it either. I just watch it for the halftime show and the commercials.

Here are some things that were more exciting to me this week than Super Bowl.

1. "Formation" by Beyonce.

The Queen is back and she's slaying. After over a year of not releasing any music, Beyonce released this video the day before the Superbowl and stole the Internet. If you're in love with this video as much as I am, then you'll be happy to know there's a bonus. You can find Formation-inspired merchandise here.

2. The SNL Skit "Bern Your Enthusiasm" Featuring Larry David.

Everyone knows Larry David is the only one that can perfectly pull off a Sanders impersonation. I've always been a big fan of SNL and this skit is the latest one on our friend Bernie and his daily obstacles in running for president. Always remember, at least have the decency to give a wipe before the shake.

3. Seattle Meowtropolitan

Seattle Meowtropolitan opened last December and it's by far, the most exciting thing since the Seahawks went to the Superbowl last year. Coffee and Cats. My two great loves in one place. Life can't get much better than that. I have yet to visit it, but I know that the day I do, I will be in paradise. If you live in Seattle or are just passing through, you can't give up the opportunity to see this.

4. The Petition to Make Plizzanet Earth A Reality (I'm not kidding).

What started as an entertaining segment on Jimmy Kimmel is becoming loved by viewers everywhere. I'll be honest... Plizzanet Earth gives me life. The first time I saw this video, I laughed for 10 minutes which is too long to laugh about anything after it's already finished, but that's how much I loved it. I want this to be as real as the next Snoop Dogg fan so I signed this petition.

5. Watching "Making of A Murderer."

I'm late to every Netflix trend. It took Laura Ricciardi and Moira Demos10 years to make this series and since nobody has stopped talking about it for a month, it must be good. Watching Netflix on a Sunday night beats football in my book. I'll just give this one a whirl.

6. A Bowl Of Carrots

I am more excited by a bowl of carrots than I am by the SuperBowl. True story!

7. Joan Rivers ripping apart my outfit on "Fashion Police."

If Joan Rivers was telling me that I looked like Lady Gaga in a convent or like someone who was fished out of the sea after jumping off the Titanic, I would just stop and say, "Joan Rivers? You're alive? Oh my God, I love you! Thank you." Joan could call me anything she wanted and I'd be so stoked that I'd forget what a Superbowl even is. RIP Joan Rivers, you still remain my inspiration.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
