Cheerleaders, those fun spirited people you see in the front of games having more energy then you could ever hope to have. Though no two cheerleaders are quite the same, we still all fall under a certain knowledge of truth that comes with cheerleading. The governing principal: "It's not a democracy, it's a cheer-ocracy."

1. Cheerleading Is a Sport

This is not debatable. There may be nothing more annoying for a cheerleader than to be told that what they're doing is not a sport. For all you nay sayers out there, I dare you to try to be thrown in the air, do rounds of back-handsprings, all with a big-ass smile. When you've done that, then you can talk about if it's a sport or not.

2. The Uniforms are Crazy Uncomfortable

I mean don't get me wrong, they're cute and all, and even though we look like we're moving with such flow, let me just tell you, they're tight, holding in our breath, and scratching up on our skin.

3. We've All Seen 'Bring It On'

Like more than once. And know every single line. And probably saw the other four (even though we all know they weren't as good as the original). I'm just saying any cheerleader who says they haven't seen Bring It On is lying, and any cheerleader who says they didn't like it is DEFINITELY lying.

4. You Have Some Sort of Knowledge of How Football and Basketball Work

Some cheerleaders know a lot about sports, and some of us, like my self, started out knowing nothing. But at least now, after cheering for countless football games at my high school, I don't feel completely lost during the Super Bowl.

5. You Get VIP Treatment at Games

I'm talking free entrance, front row seats and standing, and when the big games come up, you know your squad is riding in a coach bus and not cramming in a school bus with the rest of your school.

6. You Kind of Wish You Could Yell With the Fans

The fans get to get angry and yell obscenities, but we're in uniform and trying to sit pretty, smile, and keep our cool. No matter how bad we wanna fight the school that's talking smack, but in the uniform, we gotta keep composure. Sure it would be fun to be a part of the fans, but whole else is gonna lead them if we don't?

7. Your Squad Will Fight and Love Like Crazy

Hey, any big team fights, but no matter how many catty fights your squad might get in, at the end of the day it's nothing but love. We always got each other's backs, and you know you can always count on your fellow cheerleader to be there for you.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
