In each friend group, we all have that one friend who acts like the mom of the group. While these motherly instincts may be subtle, they are there in everything this friend does. This friend is always the one who you can go to for advice, and chances are you would probably even trust them with your life. Here are 7 signs that you are the mom friend of the group.

1. You are always watching out for your friend’s safety

Whether it's keeping an eye on them at a party, or just letting them know when something doesn’t seem right with their relationship, you are just watching out for them. Yea, it might be the honest truth and they might hate it when you act like the mom, but in the end, they are thankful that you were there to keep an eye on them.

2. Your friends always trust you to take charge with directions

Chances are, you looked up how to get there ahead of time. You’re the one who gives them a heads up when the turn is coming up. I would even bet that you monitor the speed limit to make sure they don’t get caught speeding… or that might just be me... haha.

3. You are always prepared for any situation

You definitely are the mom friend if you are always prepared. You might have Band-Aids in your purse, snacks for when someone’s hungry, anything. Traveling with you is one of the best decisions a friend can make because they know that you’ll think of everything.

4. You are always asking your friends if they need anything when they come over

Playing hostess is definitely your thing. When the girls are sleeping over, you have snacks, drinks, movies, and blankets already ready before they even get there.

5. You end up being the sober cab

When you’re the mom friend, you tend to end up being the sober cab. You will end up being the only sober one at the party but your friends are grateful you are. Even though you might be surrounded by drunken idiots. You watch out for your friends to make sure they don’t drink too much and you end up holding back their hair when they experience the hangover and the puking. They will be thankful you did.

6. You are the friend they can come to when they need advice

You are the one they call when it's 2am and they just broke up with their boyfriend. You are the one that takes them out for coffee when things aren’t well at home. When they need a shoulder to cry on, you’re there for them. No matter the time or place, you’re always a phone call or a text away and they rely on you for advice.

7. You are always reminding your friends to make smart decisions

Sometimes, we don’t always listen to the advice that we should. But being the mom friend means that you’re always watching out for them. Reminding them to make smart decisions is part of that. You always tell them to drive safe, be careful, and always want them to text you when they get home so you know they got home safely.

To the mom friend of every group, we thank you and we don’t know where we would be without you.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
