I don't know about anyone else but I know that even with a significant other, my best friend is one of the most important people in my life. We are the perfect couple, and I know I am not the only one who notices.

1. You send each other mushy texts

That "Morning, hope you have a fabulous Monday" text message usually comes straight from your number one gal pal rather than any guy. Your best friend always texts you a pick me up or even just wants to see how your day is, no reasons needed.

2. Your calendars are synced

Maybe not literally, but you know your bestie's schedule almost better than your own. You know exactly when she'll be stressed over that big exam, or when she's got a date with the newest guy. And you definitely know why she's being moody and that you should probably have chocolate on hand.

3. People are confused when you're apart

If going out is a regular occurrence for you and your gf people will be appalled when you're on the town without them. You are often asked "Where’s your partner in crime?" or "Is (insert bff name here) sick?" Other people literally cannot fathom one of you without the other.

4. The matching is unintentional

Being together so often can lead to a similar mindset, which can lead to similar decisions, which almost always leads to accidentally wearing freakishly similar outfits to almost every event. People usually think you guys are just weirdos who like matching all the time and you have to explain that you love each other so much that it just happens. One of you probably chimes in "I had it on first."

5. You have date night

No matter how busy you two are there is at least one night a week when you do something together. Whether it’s take a yoga class or go get a fancy dinner, you always make time for each other to just catch up.

6. Their fam is your fam

Your parents and theirs pay no mind when you just walk into each other's houses unannounced and sit down for dinner. There’s probably a plate waiting there anyway. Sometimes they even hang out with your family when you're not there. Even their extended family knows who you are and probably asks them how you've been.

7. Fighting is nbd

You guys get in dumb little arguments because you are comfortable enough to tell it how it is but it literally doesn't matter because you'll probably be laughing seconds later. And so what if they called you a b*tch, you were being one. They have seen you at your best but they have also seen you at your worst and they haven't ditched your ass yet, so thank your lucky stars that best friends are there through thick and thin.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
