College is a new chapter of my life
1. Independence
As much as I have appreciated my parents' guidance over the past eighteen years, I am excited to be on my own. I am going to enjoy putting together a daily routine for myself that revolves around my classes and my desires. I am going to enjoy going to work out whenever I please and going to the library late at night. I get to decide when I go to bed and when I would like to wake up. I get to decide what I eat for breakfast and how I would like to spend my afternoon. Despite the fact that independence inquires doing things such as "adulting," I know I can handle it and I am looking forward to making the most of it.
2. New Faces
In a small town like Windermere, everybody knows everybody. When you go to places like Jeremiah's, it is hard to not see someone you went to school with, or someone you have heard of through a mutual friend. With this being said, I am excited to attend a school that promotes diversity, and has a population of approximately 52,000 students. Meeting people at a big school is kind of neat since you will not only meet so many different kinds of people, but you will also probably run into them when you least expect it!
3. Football
There is no place like The Swamp.
4. Rush
I am so excited to rush and learn about the different sororities on campus. Getting to know new people is such an essential aspect of college, and I would like to take advantage of that!
5. Trying New Things
Many people claim that they really find themselves in college; they figure out what they are truly passionate about and consider how they will incorporate that passion into their futures. I am looking forward to taking advantage of all of the resources and finding my passion. I will join a club that really stands out to me. I will get involved in the community by donating my time to different organizations. I will take a class that I initially have no interest in. I look forward to keeping an open mind with everything I pursue.
6. Dancin' the Night Away
My love for dancing is something that has stuck with me since I was a little girl. As captain of my dance/cheerleading team in middle school, I have always enjoyed getting out there and performing in front of large masses of people. Despite the fact that dancing in front of crowds is probably not something I will be doing in college, I cannot wait to go out with my roommate and enjoy the various nightclubs around campus.
7. Living it Up!
I want to embrace everything UF has to offer. I look forward to going on early morning runs through campus, and biking back from classes on sunny afternoons. I look forward to experiencing why Gainesville is sometimes referred to as "Rainesville", and why people rave about the annual Gator Growl. I look forward to getting involved in Greek Life and befriending the students who live down the hall from me. I look forward to tailgating before big football games and getting together study groups before rigorous exams. All in all, I look forward to a great four years as a Florida gator!
