7 Reasons To Watch "This Is Us" Right Now

"I like to think that one day you'll be an old man like me talkin' a young man's ear off explainin' to him how you took the sourest lemon that life has to offer and turned it into something resembling lemonade." And cue the tears. No show has made me laugh or cry more than NBC's This Is Us, which premiered last September. From its all-star cast to genius writing that keeps you guessing, This Is Us has taken the world by storm and is one of the year's best new shows. The last episode, airing before Christmas, left us with a huge cliffhanger and a million questions we hope will be answered when the show comes back this week. Here's 7 reasons to start watching the show ASAP (psst you can stream all the episodes on NBC.com) or to pick it back up this week:

1. There's a variety of characters

From young triplets who annoy each other as any siblings would to the sassy but loving Beth to the goofy and romantic Toby, every character has a unique quality that they bring to the ensemble.

2. The writing is amazing

I haven't seen a show as well-written as this in a long time. The creators let the audience know just enough details to get them guessing but end up giving them something completely different than they thought.

3. It reminds us of the importance of community

The show includes all ages, races, stages of life, you name it. There's strong themes of unity and acceptance that are perfect for our society today.

4. No character is one dimensional

Each episode reveals another layer of the characters. I dare you to find a character that you whole-heartedly hate, I guarantee there isn't one.

5. Anyone who watches it can find something to relate to

Like I said, there's a variety of characters and storylines. It's impossible to not empathize with at least one of the characters.

6. There's comedy and charm amidst the drama

"Parenthood meets Modern Family" (Glamour.com) is the perfect way to describe this dramedy.

7. It makes you think

...about how quick decisions can affect your whole life, that people are not just what they appear to be on the surface, about reasons why someone might do something, really anything. This isn't just a campy sitcom to play in the background while you do your homework, it sucks you in and makes you really think. I can't wait to see what the show will throw at us next.

This Is Us returns to NBC this Tuesday, January 10th at 9/8c.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

eye roll

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"

While this question trend can get annoying, there are a couple of pros to having RBF.

Yify

Another day, another Elle Woods comment. Can’t us blondes get through the day without someone harping at us over the typical stereotypes about who we are? I never understood why a person was judged based upon the hair color they were born with, or the hair color they choose to have (unless you dye your hair blue like Kylie Jenner, I’m still trying to understand why that’s a trend). Nevertheless, as it should be assumed, not everyone is the same. Not all blondes like bright colors and Lilly Pulitzer, and not all blondes claim to identify with Marilyn Monroe. I think the best suggestion to give to people before they make such radical claims is to stop judging a book by its cover. Or in this case, stop judging a blonde by her hair color.
