@gogrease

Grease is a movie musical that will never go out of style. Varsity sweaters, perms, and drive-ins may not be part of the latest trends of today but the life lessons, love triangles, and high school scenarios are still definitely a part of today's culture. We can learn a lot from Grease, insight on relationships, high school cliques, and life in general. The lyrics and lines are infamous from an irreplaceable cast. With the 40 year anniversary of the movie musical making its debut, these are the lines and lyrics that really make the movie special and what it is that our hearts will always love. Now go throw on those leather pants and/ or T-bird jackets and start jammin'.

1. Summer dreams ripped at the seams but, oh, those summer nights tell me more, tell me more.

During this song, all we wanted to do was yell at them that they were at the same high school!

2. I don't see it as dropping out. I see it as a very strategic career move.

French is my spirit animal.

3. Elvis, Elvis, let me be, keep that pelvis far from me just keep your cool.

Elvis, what a legend!

4. Men are rats, listen to me, they’re fleas on rats, worse than that, they’re amoebas on fleas on rats.

Uhm seems like no matter the time period, boys are jerks.

5. My eyes are not the first to cry I'm not the first to know there's just no getting over you.

...and yet, we still have a special place in our hearts for them.

6. Tell me about it, stud.

You can only say this if your hair is full, lips red, and leather pants on.

7. My head is saying fool forget him my heart is saying don't let go.

When your boyfriend doesn't order you french fries even though you told him you weren't hungry.

8. You're cruisin' for a bruisin'.

Kenickie was not messin' around.

9. I'm outta my head hopelessly devoted to you.

This lyric is a heart melter.

10. If you can’t be an athlete, be an athletic supporter.

Classic line from Coach Calhoun.

11. Why this car is automatic, it's systematic, it's hydromatic, why it's grease lightning.

John Travolta in this scene is *insert fire emoji*.

12. The rules are... there ain't no rules!

Every high schoolers' dream.

13. Beauty school dropout, no graduation day for you, beauty school dropout.

Frenchie's bright pink hair did not help her case about dropping out of high school.

14. You know how it is, rockin' and rollin' and what not.

I want this on a t-shirt. ASAP.

15. Missed your midterms and flunked shampoo.

This movie never fails to have a great wordplay.

16. That's my name, don't wear it out.

The name is Danny.

17. Turn in your teasin' comb and go back to high school!

Wise advice - get that diploma!

18. You cant just walk out of a drive-in.

Hence the word "drive."

19. Now your bangs are curled, your lashes twirled, but still, the world is cruel.

Just because you have everything together doesn't mean everyone else does.

20. I don't like parents.

Who does?

21. We made a start, now we're apart there's nothing left for me.

You do you, boo.

YEAH!

25. I'm losing control cause the power you're supplying it's electrifying!

Caution: high voltage.

26. Like a beautiful blonde pineapple.

I'm telling ya that's a look.

27. You better shape up cause I need a man and my heart is set on you.

You just sang this line in your head, didn't you?

28. You better understand, to my heart I must be true.

Put yourself first, girl.

29. At the high school dance where you can find romance maybe it might be love.

Blue Skies Weren't Always Blue

Overall I'd love to say I grew up a happy overly enthusiastic child that was taught to love herself and be loved by everyone else, but I can't say that and I never will.
