1. If you’re talking to someone important, and you accidentally send something dumb, send them this to explain why you said that. Because you didn’t actually send that. It was your bunny.
2. I don’t need to tell you that college is stressful and overwhelming. One day you’re on the path to getting an A, and the next day you’re failing. Imagine coming back to your room seeing a cute little fluff ball who appreciates your very existence (independently, of course… not because you feed them).
3. Bunnies provide you with the opportunity to care and nurture another creature — plus they need love from you too! They’re also pretty adorable.4. They can go on outdoor adventures with you! It can provide an excuse to meet new friends on campus who also walk their buns! Who knew it was that common?!
5. Bunnies make great guard animals for your room. A thief may break in, see the adorable fluffiness, and forget of their intention to rob you!
6. They’re so fluffy and cute, it makes you wonder if they're even real. Or maybe it's just a defense mechanism for when they chew your shoe laces.
7. Overall, bunnies make great companions. When you’re freaking out and staying up all night to write a paper (or an article for The Odyssey), they’ll be right there with you.
Of course, pets are a lot of responsibility and require a significant portion of your time and money. Also, be aware that you’re signing up for a possible 5-12 year commitment. If you don’t think you can properly care for a pet, that's fine, maybe start with a plant?
If you decide you have the ability to care for a pet, check out your local animal shelter! There may be another small and kind creature looking for a nice home.
