There is no place I'd rather be than home.

7 Reasons To Spend Spring Break At Home

Spring break, a week where every college student has a count down for when they can escape school and have a mini vacation. Destination spots such as Punta Cana, the Bahamas, Panama City Beach, and Cancun are just some of the places where some college students enjoy their break at. But for me, I rather be spending my spring break at home. Why? Here are some reasons not only why I will be staying home for spring break, but also for many other college students.

1. Exhausted from the first half of the semester.

Going on vacation is awesome and it's always a great time, especially with your friends, but nothing sounds better to me than being at home and relaxing all day long. From everything piling up at school and all the never ending work that has to be done, we only can take so much. Our bodies are tired and need a break, and there is no better way to relax than to be at home where you are comfortable.

2. Saving hundreds of dollars.

By the time you buy your plane ticket, rent a car, get gasoline for your rented car, pay for about four nights at a hotel, spend an abundant amount on food and drinks, buy souvenirs for yourself or others, and other expenses, it averages out around $800-1,000. That is one expensive trip, and you could use that money for something else.

3. Access to great food.

Being away at school has its downs, and the quality of food is definitely one of them. Whether you are living in the dorms and the same food every single week is getting pretty old or you live in your place and you have to constantly cook and clean up after yourself, nothing beats a week's worth of nice home-cooked meals that you miss out on when you're away at school. Plus, your mom or dad will probably be more than happy to cook you a meal.

4. Spend time on yourself.

During the hectic time at school, there is hardly ever any time to actually go to get your nails done, get a massage, go shopping, or do anything for yourself. This week is all about you! Everything is on your watch and you don't have to be anywhere at anytime for once, might as well take advantage of this great opportunity and do as you please. Because when you have to go back to school, everything goes back to reality with no time to breathe.

5. Spend time with your family members.

When you're away at school, it is so hard to go home and visit your family, especially if you're an athlete. Spring break would be a great time to go home and spend time with your family and loved ones because they never get to see you, and they miss and love you. We have to remember it's not only hard on us when we don't see our families, it's hard on our families too.

6. Time to get your life together.

Doesn't matter whether you are away at school or go to a school close by home, there is never enough time to get everything organized in a normal functioning way. With everything hitting you at once, this week should be a perfect time to get your work done, maybe work ahead, possibly apply for jobs, or to get your piece of mind back.

7. Having time to actually catch up on your favorite TV shows and movies.

When you're at school, there is little to no time for yourself let alone to schedule out a certain time block every week to watch your favorite show. Or when a movie comes out at the theaters you can't go and see it because you don't have a car, you have no one to go with, or you don't want to spend your money. You can catch up on all your shows and watch any movie all in the comfort of your home. Being a couch potato for a week sounds great to me.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
