It's half way through the semester and college kids across the country have only one thing on their minds: spring break
As campus clears out, everyone is thinking about where they are headed for the week. Some people are tanning on the beach, others are hitting the slopes or exploring some far off city. Spring break trips practically scream college, and are somewhat a right of passage.
But, have you ever thought of sticking somewhere closer to home for the week?
Here's five reason to head on home for spring break this year.
1. Food. Food. Food.
Not just food, but good food. Home-cooked meals and your favorite restaurants make your heart happy and your brain temporarily forget about the dining hall.
2. Tons of time to sleep.
With midterms finally behind you, nothing sounds better than curling up in your own bed (that is hopefully not Twin XL) and veg out to Netflix all day.
3. Seeing old friends.
With any luck, your spring break lines up with your high school friends and you can reconnect in your old favorite hangouts. Reunions make spring break that much sweeter.
4. Quality time with the fam.
There's no one who knows you better or cares about you more. Although the phone and Skype make life so much easier, it's nice to see your family in person for once. And it might be the only chance you get to see them until summer break.
5. Familiarity
It's nice to be somewhere you know like the back of your hand. You can go to your favorite coffee place, turn on the radio and actually know the best stations, and drive without the GPS.
There's no place like home for the break.
