7 Reasons Why I Can't Wait For Fall

The truth is, August is the Sunday of summer. While summer is a beautiful season that should not be taken for granted, I can not help but look forward to the fall once August hits. For me at least, there is something about autumn that is exciting and inspires creativity and change. Once the heat of the summer wears off, I feel like I am a new person that can accomplish anything. Here are the seven things that I am most looking forward to this fall season!

1. Going Back To School

I may regret saying this mid-semester when I am drowning in homework and studying, but I miss college more than anything and I can not wait to be back in a few weeks. From reuniting with friends to rush week to decorating my dorm, it is hard to restrain myself from counting down the days.

2. Makeup

Although I am obsessed with makeup year-round, fall is definitiely my favorite season to explore new products and experiment with different looks. Bold brows, smokey brown eyes, and intense lipstick are only some of the long list of beauty trends that the fall has to offer.

3. Fashion

Fall is the king when it comes to fashion. A good pair of jeans, a sweater, and block-heel boots beats any outfit that summer has to offer. Once the weather begins to cool down, I love throwing on a jacket because I feel it completes even the most simple outfits.

4. Everything Halloween

I doubt I'm the only person that starts to think about their Halloween costume during the summer. Halloween is such an exciting holiday all-around, especially because it brings out everyone's "inner-kid". All in all, Halloween is definitely fall's icing on the cake.

5. Fall Food

I love cooking and baking year-round, but traditional fall ingredients and recipies are my favorite. From pumpkin flavored baked goods to everything Thanksgiving has to offer, I often find myself getting hungry when thinking about fall treats.

6. Music

I don't exactly know why this is, but music just sounds better to me in the fall. Additionally, fall is a popular time for many artists to release new albums, so get ready to update your soundtrack this upcoming season.

7. Beautiful Scenery

Nothing says "fall" like the beautiful palette of colors it has to offer. There is something mesmerizing about having a cool breeze blow through your hair as you walk, while an array of leaves swing from above.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
