There is no doubt that Point Park University is super diverse in more ways than one. With representation from tons of races and countries, majors ranging from Funeral Services to Theatre Tech, and a ton of student organizations, there is really something for everyone here. That being said, there is a certain stereotype that comes along with the variety of people we have. Here are seven people you are sure to meet at PPU:
1. The Dance Major
You've never seen them in anything but LuluLemon leggings and their hair in a bun on top of their head, yet they manage to look amazing every single day. How do they do it?
2. The Cinema Major
These are the ones you only see during class time because any other time they are on set. Every time you log on to Facebook, they're checked into a different location that's definitely way cooler than any place you're going this weekend.
3. The Musical Theatre Major
You'll hear them before you see them, as show tunes echo through the halls of this university. When they round the corner don't be surprised to see the whole cast of "Alice in Wonderland," as they are coming straight from their stage make-up class. I can't even put on eyeliner and they look exactly like the Mad Hatter... Okay.
4. The SAEM Major
You'll run into these guys working at a concert at Stage AE or a sporting event at Heinz Field for whatever awesome internship they scored this semester. While you hold that $30 ticket in your hand, they're going to enjoy the show for free and earn their degree at the same time - the best way to kill two birds with one stone, if you ask me.
5. The Photo Major
You actually might not meet a photo major because they haven't emerged from the darkroom in 15 weeks... Trust me, I know that too well.
6. The Funeral Services Major
They are far and few between, but these are surprisingly some of the most pleasant people you'll meet. They may spend their day learning all about embalming dead bodies, but they're some of the most lovely people you'll meet on campus.
7. The Rugby Player
They roll squad deep always, but they are definitely some of the most outgoing folks on campus. You've definitely seen them dominate the field on Point Park's version of Friday Night Lights, but you also may have seen them "shoot the boot" at a party on a Saturday.
