1. Procrastination is real
In high school, you may have turned everything in on time or maybe even early, but in college more often than not, you will find yourself typing your midterm paper at 11 pm the night before it's due. It will seem awful the first time you procrastinate for an assignment, but it will teach you to become a fast typer and to handle stress well.
2. Going to bed early is a joke

The first couple of weeks in college you feel good, getting to sleep at a good time, but before you know it you will be feeling blessed when you are finally rolling into your bed before 3 am. Sleep becomes something out of the norm, and setting alarms for five-minute naps will happen.
3. Food at any hour of the day is perfectly acceptable
IHOP at midnight and Taco Bell at 2 am is perfectly acceptable and even encouraged. Sometimes while having a late night in the library, you get the munchies and snack time is something that has to happen. Thank the Lord for 24-hour drive-thrus.
4. If it's free, take three
Usually, people offer free things to college students. I'm not quite sure if it's out of pity or they just feel like being generous, but when it happens to you, take three.. or six... or however many you can take before they tell you to stop. You can never have too many "Free Route 66" coupons.
5. Not showering every day is okay... just let it happen
If you think you'll get up, take a shower and get ready every day for class, you are absolutely wrong. This is why God created hats. After your hair looks as greasy as leftover fried chicken, you can just put on a cute ball cap and nobody thinks twice about it. It's really a beautiful thing.
6. Having less than $20 is completely normal
Being too broke to go to McDonald's may seem like something that happens in third world countries, but it happens in college too. One week you may have $200 in your bank account and the next week you may only have $20, but it will be okay. FLEX points will save your life and keep you from starving.
7. Netflix will ruin your social life... and grades
It always just starts out as one episode of Grey's, but quickly turns into five and you've soon forgotten about the dinner date you and your friends had planned and the paper you have due at midnight. Netflix is great, but don't let it take over your life.
