Summer. It is the season of summer camp after wonderful summer camp. These camps bring people all over the United States and other places of the world the joy of the outdoors, time devoted to developing friendships instead of devices, and activities that can only be enjoyed at these somewhat sacred places. But before the fun and adventure can start, what proceeds it are the hours, days, or weeks of packing in advanced for these camps. It's all fun and games until someone realizes that they forgot that one crucial piece of camping equipment or personal hygiene item. Some items are less important but are still a good item to bring just in case of an unexpected adventure or emergency. Here are 7 items to remember when packing for that next big summer camp or summer trip.

1. Sun Tan Lotion

Some people, including me, will burn and sizzle out in the summer sun like a piece of bacon that has been on the griddle for just a little too long. For those of us who were 'blessed' with skin that is weak to the sun, there is the wonderful invention of sun tan lotion or sun cream. If someone is going anywhere where they will be out in the sun for a prolonged period of time, such as band camp, a tropical paradise, or an up north cabin, this magical lotion will be the difference between being fine and flinching with every move they make.

2. Pants

Weather can unpredictable especially in Michigan where it can turn on a dime. Even when the weather is halfway decent, longer pants, such as jeans, sweatpants, or leggings, are important to bring for adventures such as horse back riding and hiking.

3. A Hair Brush or Comb

Bed head is a constant throughout the lives of some people and there are many ways to tame it. Though it seems simple enough to remember, brushes are sometimes on the bottom of the many lists of items to pack. Though it is not necessary for some people and fingers are also useful to get out those tangles from the night before, brushes are good to keep on hand in case of emergencies.

4. Bug Repellent

With all joking aside, more and more bugs are beginning to carry diseases that can prove to be fatal. Insects such as ticks, which are common in heavily wooded areas, and mosquitoes have been known to carry diseases and it is important to keep them away from people. Bug spray or repellent can be used to fend off some of these nasty bugs. Just don't inhale while being sprayed down by yourself or a friend.

5. Extra Socks

Though it may be the last item on some people's minds, socks are rather important. These handy pieces of clothing can prevent the formation of blisters on the feet and protect your feet from the dirtiness of some floors. Socks, however, are not immune to ripping and tearing which is why it is important to bring extra.

6. Things To Keep Entertained

The car ride, plane ride, or any other form of transportation can be long and exhausting for both the passengers and the driver. Bringing things to do will help the car ride go faster and prevent the boredom that strikes every now and again. Talking together or trivia can keep the driver involved as well and can help everyone stay awake especially on those early morning rides.

7. Food

Everyone gets hungry at some point and bringing a cooler full of different kinds of food can prevent anyone from becoming hangry on the way up or during the trip. Bringing a cooler, if possible, can also provide people with healthier options rather than going out every night.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
