7 Best Grey's Anatomy Quotes

For a show that is written about super smart surgeons, it's surprisingly relatable for everyone else.

7 Best Grey's Anatomy Quotes

When I'm having a particularly stressful day (or a really easy one, tbh), I love to put on my pajamas, crawl in bed, pull up Netflix, and binge with my friends Meredith, Alex, and the rest of the wonderful Grey's Anatomy cast. Seriously Shonda, I don't know how you can write a show about doctors and make me feel like I've never watched something so relatable. Maybe the reason why I love this show and find it so identifiable is because the characters have some insanely amazing quotes. Here, I have compiled a list of my personal favorites to get me through the day.

1. "At some point you just have to let go, move on. Because no matter how painful it is, it's the only way we grow." (Meredith Grey)

Mer has never said it better, at some point, you just have to grow up and get over it. Whether it be some frat boy or losing out to the clearly under qualified girl for a raise at work, you get up each day and move past it.

2. "It turns out sometimes you have to do the wrong thing. Sometimes you have to make a big mistake to figure out how to make things right. Mistakes are painful, but they're the only way to find out who we really are." (Denny Duquette)

Coming from someone who has probably made more than her fair share of mistakes, I've found out personally that the majority of them have either taught me something about myself, others, or just life in general. From staying out too late partying to not telling "the one" how I felt, my mistakes make me who I am. Thanks for making me feel better about it, Denny.

3. "Have some fire. Be unstoppable. Be a force of nature. Be better than anyone here and don't give a damn about what anyone thinks." (Cristina Yang)

Dorky as it may be, every time I'm going in for a job interview or giving a big presentation for a class, I say this quote from my homegirl Cristina to myself to pump myself up and remind myself that I am here for a reason, which is only to be better.

4. "If you love someone, you tell them. Even if you're scared that it's not the right thing. Even if you're scared that it'll cause problems. Even if you're scared that it will burn your life to the ground, you say it, and you say it loud and you go from there." (Mark Sloan)

Oh Mark, why did you have to go? You taught me how important it is to tell someone that you love them, because you never know when you won't be able to. Don't miss your chance because you're scared, if you feel it, you say it, 'nuff said.

5. "If you aren't willing to keep looking for light in the darkest of places without stopping, even when it seems impossible, you will never succeed." (Amelia Shepherd)

If you gave up every time it got hard, how far would you get? There have been points in my life where I didn't know if I would be able to get back up again, but I had to claw myself back up because that's what you do. You keep trying and trying, because that is true success.

6. "You deserve to be with somebody who makes you happy. Somebody who's not gonna complicate your life. Somebody who won't hurt you." (Derek Shepherd)

That's right. Drop the boy who just can't commit, or the one who texts you only on Friday nights at approximately 1 am after 7 beers. You get one life, and you deserve to spend it with someone who would give theirs to you.

7. "It's not childish to hold on to hope. It's actually hard, very, very hard." (Izzie Stevens)

Hope is what keeps us going at the end of the day. It's the voice in your head that makes you pick yourself up and keep going. Hope that it will get better, hope in life. No matter how many times someone tells you that something is impossible, hope is what makes you keep trying until you succeed, and ultimately allows you to prove everyone wrong.

Seriously, repeat these quotes and believe you can do it. You can show the world, you can be the change.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
