I just want to start off by saying I love makeup. I think that Sephora is a magical place where all dreams come true because their aisles are filled with all different types of makeup. Not only is it beautiful to look at, but you can even try it out before you purchase it.

Something else I love, however, is animals. I think that they are wonderful and watching Legally Blonde 2 for the millionth time made me wonder if the makeup brands I use on a daily basis are tested on animals first. The thought made me sick to my stomach, so I conducted some research.

I stumbled upon PETA's website. PETA is an organization whose name stands for "People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals." On their website, they have a handy tool that allows you to search for cosmetic brands that do not test on animals. It even goes beyond makeup to beauty products like shampoo, deodorant etc. It's very eye opening.

I compiled a list of all of my favorite cosmetic brands that I found out do not test on animals and if you find out that some of your favorites do, these are just as amazing and I encourage you to start using them.

1. E.L.F. Cosmetics

E.L.F. is a makeup brand that is highly underrated. It is so cheap, I have even found their products at my local dollar store. Just because it's cheap, however, doesn't mean that it's poor quality. Their matte lip sticks are my personal favorite out of any lip color I own because it lasts all night, and I paid next to nothing or it.

2. Urban Decay

I would be lying if I said that I didn't breathe a sigh of relief when I saw that my beloved Naked palettes were safe. This is fantastic news to all fellow makeup lovers out there. Now when you decide to splurge and treat yourself to these eye shadow palettes, you can do so with peace of mind.

3. Marc Jacobs Beauty

Marc Jacobs makes my absolute favorite foundation because a little bit goes a long way. The coverage is amazing and it feels light on my face. I am so happy that this line doesn't test on animals because now that I made the conscious decision to make sure all of my makeup is cruelty free, I will continue to use it!

4. LUSH Cosmetics

I love everything about LUSH. When you walk in to that place, the smell is amazing and I could easily spend hours in there. Their lip balms and scrubs work wonders. The best part? They don't test on animals either. Their deodorant, body care, shower gel, skin care, etc. is all cruelty-free as well.

5. Too Faced

Too Faced is another brand that is (thankfully) cruelty-free. They have many great products ranging from eye shadow sets, lip color, mascara, foundation, blush and more. The list goes on and on.

6. Smashbox

Smashbox is another brand that has a lot to offer. Their makeup, makeup remover and skin care products are cruelty-free. This brand makes my favorite compressed powder.

7. bareMinerals

bareMinerals has anything from skin care to makeup and I personally have liked everything I have tried. It feels really good on your skin and lasts all day!

Although this list is short, PETA has a much larger one that you can use to reference. It also gives a list of brands that do test so you know what to stray from. I encourage everyone to check out the list so you can make the conscious decision to use brands that are cruelty-free.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
