7 Bible Verses For Tough Days
Julia Waterbury

When life gets hectic, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and helpless. Luckily, there is a book that has every possible solution for this: the Bible. God’s word is there to provide comfort and reassurance for you in every situation. These verses will remind you that you’re not alone and offer advice in your times of trouble.

When You’re Worried Or Stressed

“I prayed to the Lord, and he answered me. He freed me from all my fears. Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy; no shadow of shame will darken their faces. In my desperation I prayed, and the Lord listened; he saved me from all my troubles.” – Psalm 34:4-6 NLT

God doesn’t want you to feel worried or stressed. He wants you to come to Him with your troubles so that He can help you, just like your earthly father would do. Turning to the Lord will not only give you peace of mind, but also provide you with guidance and comfort.

When You Feel Pressured

“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” – Romans 12:2 NLT

In our world, we’re put under a lot of pressure to look and act a certain way. This verse is a reminder not to fall into society’s trap, but to follow God’s will. Being yourself is much more rewarding and gratifying than trying to become someone else.

When You Feel Defeated

“We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation.” – Romans 5:3-4 NLT

It’s difficult to be positive when you’re going through hard times, but this reminds us that there is good to be found in every situation. Even if your troubles make life difficult now, they are strengthening you and will help you in the future.

When You’re Mad At Someone

“This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way that I have loved you.” – John 15:12 NLT

As humans, we repeatedly let God down by sinning, yet He continues to forgive and love us unconditionally. This verse reminds you to treat others in the same way. Love others despite the fact that they will inevitably wrong you.

When You Need To Feel Inspired

“You are the light of the world – like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.” – Matthew 5:14-16 NLT

God has given you what you need to be a light in this world. You have the ability to be a model of the Lord’s grace and glory. Use this gift and act as a disciple of the Lord!

When You’re Feeling Lost

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart… Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.” – Proverbs 3:5-6 NLT

Trust that God has a great plan for your life. He loves you more than you can understand and, therefore, wants you to succeed. Ask Him to show you His will and strive to follow Him, and He will guide you through both the good times and the bad.

When You Need Confidence

“Do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you!” – Hebrews 10:35 NLT

The key to being confident in yourself is being confident in the Lord. You must trust that He will not let you fall, but will strengthen you and lead you to accomplish great things.

Even the simplest of verses come with deep power and meaning. Remember that God’s word is always with you and there to help you.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
