It's that time of year when your friends and family start asking you what you are going to do this summer. Your response usually includes mumbling off things such as family vacations, a few concerts or weddings. However, all you really want to say is, "I'm super excited to lay in my bed and binge watch Netflix."

With this being said, you run into an issue: you've already seen all the talked about television shows. You've already seen "Breaking Bad," "Grey's Anatomy," "Walking Dead" and "Gossip Girl" (You've watched all of these while you should have been studying for finals). So, what now?

Good thing I'm crazy good at binge watching Netflix shows. I did the hard part for you. I put together a list of my favorite underrated shows (or what I like to call "hidden gems"). All of these, I believe, are must-watches.

1. 'Bomb Girls'

"Bomb Girls" is a period drama set during World War II. It is based around the change in roles females underwent as they began to work in factories creating bombs for the war effort. It features romance, action, and more importantly women's empowerment. I loved this show, guys. It was a quick watch and made me wish, like usual, that I was born in a different decade.

2. 'The 100'

"The 100" is about a group of juvenile teens who are sent, from space, back down to Earth to test the level of survival due to a previous nuclear Armageddon that once made Earth unlivable. These group of teens face betrayal, death, and the challenge of survival. The writers even threw some romance in there. I found myself all wrapped up in the romance aspects, meanwhile these kids are trying to stay alive.

"Are you going to die? Wait, kiss first!"

3. 'Girl Meets World'

This past spring break, I re-watched the entire series of "Boy Meets World" on YouTube. No. 3 is a shout-out to that. "Girl Meets World" is for all of us 90s kids. Yes, it's on Disney Channel -- still watch it. It will remind you of the glory days.

4. 'Cupcake Wars'

I've never been big into food shows, but "Cupcake Wars" is way too fun to watch. A group of contestants have a bake-off. They go through a bunch of different challenges to try and win. There are even special guest stars like Jennette McCurdy (she was my girl on "iCarly"). A show about cupcakes was shooting my anxiety through the roof.

"Oh my goodness, who is going to win? I can't look!"

5. 'Z Nation'

"Z Nation" made the list for all you "Walking Dead" fans. I don't know about all of you, but I have a weird obsession with zombies. I find myself thinking about them, and asking myself what I will do when a zombie apocalypse hits us. I'm a huge "Walking Dead" fan, but I needed/wanted more zombies in my life. This show is worth the watch (plus there's a lot of seasons to keep you entertained). It also features a little different twist. Watch it!

6. 'Chelsea Does'

This is a super quick watch. As of now there are only four episodes on Netflix. It is absolutely hilarious. I usually do not laugh at television shows, but I was crying and laughing along in my bed at this one. "Chelsea Does" is a documentary-style show featuring different subjects each episode. If you want a quick, hilarious watch, binge watch this one night.

That's a wrap y'all.

I'm not proud to admit that I could add to this list, however, these are definitely my top favorites. They will keep you busy for the summer, right? OK, maybe just keep you busy the first month.

What hidden Netflix gems do you recommend?

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
