The App That Will Solve All Your Money Problems

It can be really awkward asking people for money. Good news. You no longer have to chase down your friends to ask them for the $15.00 for the new sorority t-shirts they "keep forgetting to give you."

Tilt is literally your new best friend. The Tilt app is FREE and the easiest way to collect money from groups of people. It can be used for everything, from splitting roommate costs to organizing vacations. Students from 100-plus campuses are already using and loving it. It’s simplifying the awkward side of social events, getting stuck with the bill or having to track down those who have yet to pay. And it also has that added security of knowing that until a goal is met, no one will be charged.

And there are a few cases you where can use it – here are my top six:

1. It's your best friend/sorority sister's birthday.

What do you and your six friends get her? Each a $10.00 Starbucks gift card, really? Instead of getting her something small and not-so-genuine, you can set up a crowd Tilt to get her something she really wants, like that perfect new monogrammed bag! #srat

2. It’s come time for your “Go Green!” environmental group’s annual field trip.

As great as it is to be a part of a club on campus, it can be hard to plan with members being involved in so many other things. Chasing people around on campus to pay for transportation, snacks, dues, and equipment is not what you should be spending your Tuesday night doing. Tilt is perfect to post on your group’s page, GroupMe, website, etc. Best of all, it’s paperless! Your “Go Green!” group will love that.

3. How many times have your less-than-sober friends all decided to order an XL pizza with extra garlic sauce to split?

No one ever actually has three bucks in change to contribute. And whoever pays ends up getting the same amount as everyone else, except spotting best buds $8.00 extra. It stinks. With Tilt, you can set up a group pizza and use Tilt to pay for the pizza before your boyfriend (the pizza delivery man) comes to your door!

4. It's almost your philanthropy's awareness month!

Last year’s bake sale didn't go over so big, but that was all you could do to get the funds for the cause. Instead of burning those chocolate chip cookies, you could set up a Tilt to fund your cause and actually make a difference. Tilt allows you to reach way more than a normal philanthropy on campus. By sharing it on Facebook or other social media sites, you can reach parents, students, and other campuses' chapters!

5. You've worked on your bikini body since January, but those spring break plans, on the other hand, are a lot harder than your abs.

It's hard to keep track of who’s paid and who hasn't. People may feel awkward giving you large sums of money to pay for hotel rooms too. Tilt is the perfect way to organize a trip with your friends. No one is charged until the funds are complete! This will make your group feel more relaxed, knowing this is a trustworthy app.

6. Want to have the best Christmas party or any party, on your whole campus?

Offer up the idea of each guest contributing any amount. Those extra few dollars could mean an actual DJ comes to the party.

Yes, college has some necessities like textbooks, and rent, but you also need the extra things to make it fun. Don’t let awkward encounters or absent friends hold you back. Tilt helps you, so you’re not alone on making these happen. College campuses are full of influence, inspiration, and great ideas, and this app can help make some of them happen.

Once you download it, you’ll feel the same way. Odyssey readers get $10 toward their first Tilt with the promo code: ODYSSEY

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
