6 Summer Beauty Tips All Women Should Know

Now that I have caught your attention, let's get real. 'Tis the season when insecurities skyrocket when the temperature does the same. As the warm weather approaches, always remember to keep these "tips" in the back of your mind for easy reference as needed.

1. If you like it, wear it!

If you think your body looks great in those high-waisted shorts, you're probably right! You have the freedom to express yourself through the clothes you wear. Whether you decide to show a little more skin or dress a bit more modest, whatever you wear, own it. No one, under any circumstances, should judge you for it.

2. Your life is more important than your tan.

We've all been brainwashed by the media, magazines, beauty blogs, about how beautiful a nice tan is. However, your life is more magnificent. Be smart. Protect yourself from the sun and wear sunblock. Fun Fact: You can STILL get plenty of color even after applying sunscreen! Skin cancer is no joke.

3. You already have your beach bod, stop stressing over it!

Don't fear the beach because you feel like you aren't fully happy with your "beach body". You look great. The beach is waiting for you to park your a** in a beach chair and drink margaritas with your friends and enjoy the relaxation. So for now, eat what you want, don't beat yourself if you skip the gym one day, because you look fantastic already. Do you have a body? Do you have a swimsuit that you're comfortable in? Then there you have it, beach body is ready.

4. Your size says absolutely nothing about who you are as a person.

Size 00 is not "too skinny" just like size 22 is not "too big." No one is too much or too little of anything. This one is plain and simple. Your pant size is your pant size, and that is it. It's like judging someone based on what kind of shampoo they use.

5. Stop comparing yourself to the people in the magazines.

Look away from the "Best Ways To Lose Weight FAST" posts floating around the internet. Turn your head from the images of the tall, skinny models plastered on every blog or article you see. These people are all courtesy of Photoshop. They literally aren't real. You are comparing yourself to people who don't exist, and it isn't fair to you! It makes you question your own beauty that is so evident to those around you. Stop wishing to look like others, and start embracing the body your mama gave you and the bodies you worked for!

6. Your confidence is your best accessory.

If you simply feel uncomfortable in a bathing suit and hate having eyes on you, always remember that your smile is the prettiest thing you own. Strut your stuff with a big, genuine smile on your face and no one will be able to compare to you, I promise you that. Who cares what other people say? For one thing, you'll never see them again and they don't know how magnificent of a person you are, so let haters hate. You're better than that.

Moral of the story: love yourself and all the parts of you that make you unique.

And there you have it, ladies! A complete list of all of the beauty tips you need in order to enjoy your summer in the beautiful body you were given. Now get out there and practice them!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
