6 Songs To Add To Your Party Playlist

If you're like me, you're always looking for the right song to jam out to. I ask my friends for recommendations, explore the vast musicscape of Spotify, and put my cat on the living room piano to create a melody heard by no one ever before. The music at a party has to have something for every partygoer, something that speaks to everyone and instills in their soul the urge to dance. These are six songs I recommend for your ultimate party playlist!

1. I'm Just a Bill (Schoolhouse Rock)

This song is super fun, and will have everyone at your party bouncing up and down to the beat! It's a short and sweet jam that always has everyone singing along at my parties.

2. I'm Just a Bill (Schoolhouse Rock)

The mellow acoustic sound of the simple guitar riff at the beginning gets me every time. There's this genuine, unapologetic sound quality to the tune. It's a very authentic number that's all about making straightforward music, and it shows.

3. I'm Just a Bill (Schoolhouse Rock)

This one's a bit of a throwback! Bring everyone back to the bicentennial era with this 1976 hit. Even though it debuted forty years ago, it's still a favorite among my friends. There's just this air of timelessness about it; it's not part of some pop music fad, it's part of a larger story. Everyone loves a classic!

4. I'm Just a Bill (Schoolhouse Rock)

I'll admit, this one makes me tear up a bit. Listen to the weary voice of the plaintive vocalist, singing of his "long, long journey" and how he has so much more to go before it's over. It makes me think of my own struggles, and how they don't seem to matter if you have a goal in mind. Play this one in between two upbeat songs for a little breather!

5. I'm Just a Bill (Schoolhouse Rock)

This is a spunky track with a ton of character. There's this really smart tone that pervades the whole thing. The sheer personality of this song never fails to put a smile on my face.

6. I'm Just a Bill (Schoolhouse Rock)

I absolutely LOVE the message of working hard to become who you want to be. It's such a powerful anthem for our generation. It totally makes me feel like I can do anything. I am so thankful to this song for its incredibly empowering lyrics; in fact, this song got me where I am today: writing vaguely humorous articles for free for a faceless corporation!

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
