6 Reasons Why You Should Do The Disney College Program

6 Reasons Why You Should Do The Disney College Program

There aren't many things I love more than Disney... which is why when I found out about an internship where you spend a whole semester living and working at Walt Disney World in Florida, I could not wait to apply. Now, almost a year and a half since my program ended, I still don't go a day without reminiscing on the most magical four months of my life. Here are just a few reasons why you should do the Disney College Program:

1. You get to go to the parks for FREE

You read that right. During your Disney College Program, you get free admission to the Disney Parks. If that doesn't make you want to pack your bags and work for the Mouse a whole semester, I don't know what will. You just flash your Cast Member ID and you're in!

2. It's great for your resumé

Having The Walt Disney Company on your resumé is huge, no matter what your role is. With Disney being a Fortune 500 company and one of the leaders in guest service, every employer will be thoroughly impressed when they see you have had that kind of experience.

3. Disney University

While you're a CP, you have the opportunity to take classes through Disney University, which is incredible in itself. To learn from Disney professionals firsthand is incredible and so worthwhile!

4. You are a part of the magic

The greatest part about being a Disney Cast Member is being able to create magic for guests every day. Regardless of your role, you are helping create a magical experience for every guest that you encounter.

5. You'll make lifelong friends from all over

You'll be surrounded by people from all over the country and even the world. Some of my best friends I met on my program are from states like Michigan and Connecticut and countries like Brazil and Australia. It's crazy to think that I wouldn't have ever met some of my dearest friends if it hadn't been for the College Program.

6. It's the experience of a lifetime

On no other internship will you be able to watch an incredible fireworks show over Cinderella Castle while standing on Main Street U.S.A. and eating a Mickey Bar. There's no other internship on earth where you'll be able to ride Space Mountain fifty times before you start your shift. And there's definitely not another internship where your boss is a mouse.

Take it from me, applying for the Disney College Program is more than worth it. You'll meet your best friends, gain so much experience, and have the absolute time of your life.
