We Only Have One Life. Let's Do Something Crazy While We Can

6 Reasons Why Everyone Needs To Go SkyDiving
Rachel Nazzaro

I have always been told to do something everyday that scares me; whether it's making a new friend or skydiving! These are the reasons why everyone needs to go skydiving at least once in their life!

1. The Instructors Are Awesome!

They not only make you feel comfortable by joking around with you, but they can relate to how you feel. Everyone's first jump is going to be terrifying; you're jumping out of a perfectly good airplane for goodness sake! The Instructors not only keep you safe as well, but they have an awesome time with you every time they go up and they make it interesting!

2. On A Clear Day, You Can Practically See The Whole World From Where You Fall!

My first jump was this past Wednesday, and as we were free-falling I could see Long Island, the New York City skyline, my house, and the catskill mountains all in one glance. It was a beautiful sight and it felt great to fly free.

3. It May Be Costly, But It's Totally Worth It!

One jump is $220 and an additional $120 for the video, but when I say it's worth it, IT TOTALLY IS. I watched my video at least a dozen times since Wednesday, laughing at myself for my facial expressions and I have gotten a ton of happy and excited responses from the pictures I've put up. Not to mention, you'll have that memory for the rest of your life.

4. People Will Call You Crazy!

I've gotten called a lot of names after I pulled this stunt and "crazy" is definitely one of them. I take this as a compliment. Yeah, I'm in my 20's. No, I don't think I'm invincible, but I am young and I'm going to do as much crazy stuff as possible before I won't be able to anymore, and thats when I'll really regret it. So if you're ever called crazy for doing something that makes you happy and enjoy life and this Earth that was given to us, take it as a compliment!

5. Going With Someone Who You Know Will Enjoy It Just As Much Makes The Dive Much More Enjoyable.

You don't want to go by yourself, and you certainly don't want to go with someone who's going to complain and wine the whole time, or get freaked out and wimp out. When you decide to do something so incredible as skydiving, you want to enjoy it yourself and its just so much better when you can share that memory with someone who is just as crazy as you!

6. It Will Be Something You'll Remember For The Rest Of Your Life. And, You Have Bragging Rights!

Of course there is a risk! But there's a risk in everything! There's a risk every time we get in our cars to drive somewhere. There's even a risk playing a sport where your feet are on the ground. Do you know how many times people told me before I went that there's a risk I could die? If I had a dollar! Screw it. We only get one life and I for one am going to live it how I want. For those skeptics out there reading this, there's only a 0.003% chance that something could happen while skydiving. You have a greater chance winning the lottery than something bad happening while doing this. I only have two words for this experience. ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
