6 Places I Hope To Travel To One Day

There is so much of the world left to see.

6 Places I Hope To Travel To One Day

I have always had an extreme desire to travel the world. I am mesmerized by different places, different cultures and different people. Although I tend to love being home curled up on the couch with a movie, another part of my heart yearns to see the other wonders of the world. I am taking my first, real "abroad" experience this summer to London. During that trip, I will be able to stay in London for three weeks. I will be visiting Dublin and Paris on the weekends, as well as staying another week to explore Cinque Terre, Florence, and Rome, Italy. I am so excited for this opportunity, to finally be able to see all the amazing places our world offers, but it doesn't mean my heart stops there on other places I hope to see. Below is a list of other places I am extremely intrigued by and hope to see before I die.

1. Greece

Between the beautiful, crystal blue waters and being the land of gyros (yum!!!), I want to be able to experience this amazing place. There is something so interesting to me about the culture here. I've never been to the Mediterranean, and I really hope to be able to someday.

2. Tuscany, Italy

As a hopeless romantic and lover of love, I would love to be able to go to Tuscany. To see the countryside and beautiful landscapes in Italy seems to die for. Plus, it seems as if this place has love intertwined in its culture and values.

3. Australia

My mom lived in Australia for two years, and it would be a dream of mine to be able to go back with her and see the place she came to love. It is so crazy to me to think that this place has kangaroos out in the wild and is also home to the Great Barrier Reef. I'm not entirely sold on the scuba diving just yet, but I would love to see the reef at some point.

4. Exumas (Bahamas)

Okay ... this one might be a little weird. But I really want to go to Exumas, an island in the Bahamas where these pigs swim in the waters. I just think they are so cute, plus, its on a beach. So why not combine animals and tropical weather?

5. Germany

This is one of those "bucket list items" that I definitely want to do because I am part German. I think it would be so thrilling to go back to the place my ancestors and family was from. Plus, I find German history very interesting.

6. Africa (Safari)

This one is entirely dedicated to my love for animals. I would find it so mesmerizing to see all of the wild animals out in the natural habitat. Also, they usually have some amazing sunsets.

It would be a complete dream to be able to hit these places, and even more during my time. However, the idea of traveling is something that makes my heart so happy. I love to try new things. To think that the rest of the world is out there waiting, and yet so much of it I haven't explored, is unbelievable.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
