At this point, the Nintendo Switch has been out for almost three weeks. It has been predicted that this console could push over 8 million units around the world, and it's sold out as of right now. Everyone, everywhere is impressed with the Switch and those who don't have it (like myself) want one ASAP. Me? I am impressed, but as much as I want one so badly... I'm also not too impressed. Hear me out!!!

I love the console itself. The fact that the console is almost equivalent to a tablet or iPad is amazing, along with the fact that you can literally take it with you on the go without the Dock and all the cords you need like every other console. I actually tested this new machine out at the Nintendo World Store in New York City. When the thing is on your hands...it feels satisfying, especially when you're just holding the Joy-Con controllers (the system's equivalence to the Wii Remotes). Also, the Pro Controller may be expensive (I mean... Really, Nintendo??? $70.00?!?!), but I have to give them props anyways because it's probably the best way to play.

The only MAJOR thing that I don't love...is the lack of games!! Look, I love Zelda: Breath Of The Wild... When it comes to my breath, however, it ain't wild... I had to!!! Anyways, I also love Super Bomberman R, The Binding of Issac: Afterbirth+, 1-2-Switch, and Fast RMX. In speaking of 1-2-Switch, that should've been included with the system (like the Wii had Wii Sports and the Wii U had Nintendo Land). Getting back on topic here... THAT'S ALL WE GET!!! I mean, what if nobody is into all those games? Nintendo had announced so many other Nintendo Switch games (before its release on March 3rd) that would make much better launch titles than what we already have. Without further ado, I'm going to give you my opinions on what Switch games would make it as "better launch titles."

1. Mario Kart 8: Deluxe (4/28)

I'm not the only one bragging here about this, okay?! Mario Kart 8: Deluxe should've been a launch title! In this game, you can hit the road with this version and play anytime, anywhere! Race your friends or battle them in a revised battle mode on new and returning battle courses. Play locally in up to 4-player multiplayer in 1080p while playing in TV Mode, or play against your friends in local wireless multiplayer with up to 8 players. It has every track from the Wii U version, including DLC, making a glorious return. Plus, the Inklings from Splatoon appear as all-new guest characters, along with returning favorites, such as King Boo, Dry Bones, and Bowser Jr.! Also, you can carry two items at the same time like in Mario Kart: Double Dash! Do you now see why this would've made a great launch title?!?!

2. Splatoon 2 (Summer 2017)

In speaking of Splatoon... WE'RE GETTING A SEQUEL!!! Get hyped as we splat more ink and claim more turf, as the squid-like Inklings return in the next colorful and chaotic 4 vs. 4 action shooter. For the first time, take Turf War battles on-the-go via local multiplayer in portable play styles. You can also compete in frenetic online matches like before. Two years have passed since the release of Splatoon, and two years have also passed in the game world, leading to an evolution in fashion trends and new styles of weapons and gear. Staying fresh never looked so good.

3. Yooka-Laylee (TBA)

Meanwhile, as we're waiting for a release date for the Nintendo Switch version, Yooka-Laylee is coming out for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on the 11th of April. In this game, Yooka and Laylee venture out from the safety of their home in Shipwreck Creek to explore deep inside the work halls of a baneful business known as the Hivory Towers, to find the "Pagies" needed to explore the mysterious Grand Tomes and stop Capital B and Dr. Quack from absorbing all the world's literature and converting it into pure profit. In terms of gameplay, it's similar to Banjo-Kazooie, Banjo-Tooie, and Donkey Kong 64. It comes as no surprise because the development team, Playtonic Games, was responsible for being regular members of RareWare (or now known as Rare), who had made great games on Nintendo consoles until they got signed by Microsoft, including Grant Kirkhope (the composer of this upcoming game and the games I've just mentioned). I'm glad that these guys made an independent team and made this game. For many years, we've been waiting for a true 3D platforming game, and we're finally getting one with Yooka-Laylee.

4. Rayman Legends: Definitive Edition (TBA)

Rayman, named platformer of the year and winner of multiple artistic and musical achievements, is coming to the Nintendo Switch with Rayman Legends: Definitive Edition. This edition contains the acclaimed game Rayman Legends (in which the Wii U version received a 92/100 Metacritic score) – as well as new exclusive content. Michel Ancel, celebrated creator of Rayman, is bringing his innovative creativity to this new and exciting platform. It will make full use of the power of the Switch and its new controllers.

Rayman, Globox, and the Teensies are off wandering through an enchanted forest when they discover a mysterious tent filled with a series of captivating paintings. As they look more closely, they notice each painting seems to tell the story of a mythical world. While focusing on a painting that shows a medieval land, they are suddenly sucked into the painting, entering the world, and the adventure begins. The gang must run, jump and fight their way through each world to save the day and discover the secrets of every legendary painting.

5. Sonic Mania (Spring 2017)

Classic Sonic is back in an all-new adventure! Play as Sonic, Tails, & Knuckles as you race through all-new Zones and fully re-imagined classics, each filled with exciting surprises and powerful bosses. Harness Sonic's new Drop Dash, Tails' flight, and Knuckles' climbing abilities to overcome the evil Dr. Eggman's robots. Discover a myriad of never-before-seen hidden paths and secrets! Overall, this all-new experience celebrates the best of Classic Sonic, pushing the envelope forward with stunning 60 FPS gameplay and pixel-perfect physics. Welcome to the next level for the world's fastest blue hedgehog! Welcome to Sonic Mania!!!

Developed by Christian Whitehead (who was responsible for making the best ports of Sonic The Hedgehog, Sonic The Hedgehog 2, and Sonic CD), Headcannon, and PagodaWest Games in collaboration with SEGA of America, Sonic Mania releases digitally Spring 2017 for Nintendo Switch, along with Microsoft Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.

6. Super Mario Odyssey (Holiday 2017)

I saved the best for last with here, folks!!! In Super Mario Odyssey, Mario embarks on a new journey through unknown worlds, running and jumping through huge 3D worlds in the first sandbox-style Mario game since Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine. Set sail between expansive worlds aboard an airship, and perform all-new actions, such as throwing Mario's cap (which apparently has a pair of eyes now).

Here's a little fun fact for you all. In May of last year, Nintendo released a t-shirt that has Mario in it, coming out of the New York City sewers. In the trailer of this game, which is below, he literally comes out of the sewers in the beginning! Not only is that good teasing, but this also means that this game should've came out as a launch title for the Nintendo Switch!!!

Okay, so we might have to wait a while for some decent games, but the Switch is still one piece of technology I highly recommend for gamers everywhere!!
