6 Essentials For A Lazy Sunday In College

After a long week of studying for exams, completing lab assignments, and preparing for presentations the weekend finally rolls around. Saturdays are usually spent exploring, meeting up with friends, and staying up late. But it is Sunday that my heart really looks forward to, the most peaceful day, full of sleep, cuddles, and Netflix. Here are the essentials to having a fabulous Sunday that will leave you rejuvenated for the next week:

1. Sleeping in past 9AM

There is only one right way to start a Sunday morning: with no alarm clock and definitely not before 9a.m..

2. Drinking A Warm Beverage

Multiple cups of tea, coffee, and hot chocolate are essential for a Sunday. Start up that Keurig, or wander to your campus's closest cafe or down the street to your favorite coffee stop, Starbucks or Dunkin'?

3. Wearing Comfy Clothes and Blankets

The perfect outfit to accompany your warm beverage of choice includes fuzzy socks, sweat pants, college t-shirts, and blankets. Cozy up in bed or the couch with your mug in hand, your laptop, and your latest Netflix crush.

4. Doing Laundry

Although doing laundry is my secret obsession and favorite hobby, it's not everyone's favorite. Sunday is the perfect day to get ahead on your laundry and be sure that you don't run out of socks by Wednesday morning. Pull your favorite sweatshirt right out the dryer and snuggle in for the night with your favorite book or maybe your Calculus homework (sigh).

5. Ordering Delivery

Who wants to leave the couch or bed on a Sunday for sub-par dining hall food? Not any college student that I know. The perfect solution is ordering delivery directly to your dorm. Panera is a personal favorite, especially a warm cup of soup on a Fall Sunday.

6. Watching Football

Grab your friends and tune in to your favorite team on Sunday, struggle to pay attention through the 3rd quarter, and eat an abundance of mini Reese's peanut butter cups.

Take the time, while you are lounging in bed, holding your mug of tea, wrapped up in your blankets, waiting for your laundry to be done and your takeout to arrive, while watching football, to be thankful for what you accomplished the week before and to prepare for what the next week will bring. You will be thanking yourself on Tuesday afternoon. Happy Sunday's to all!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
